I think all of those aspects are important. The military aspect is the foundation, which is of course vital. But it's all the other aspects such as the sci-fi and ninja aspects that really make the Joe line fun for me!

Military with some sci-fi mixed in.
Could do without the ninjas and be fine.

I could do military with some ninjas, and very little sci-fi.
Jinx, I might re-do the poll, but allow people to check multiple options and remove the "all of the above" option (since they would be able to just select all three). As it is currently, it doesn't allow for just two of the three options.

I'd be fine with ninjas if they didn't take up a third of the whole franchise.

GI Joe is definitely a military-based entity. Even back to the original 12" line, this has always been single underlying element of the line.
I don't mind the sci-fi elements that had been integrated into the line, but the ninja stuff really bores me. When it was just a handful of characters in the ARAH run, it was acceptable, but it just got way too overblown for my taste. You'd think every one in ten people out there was secretly a ninja if you ran the census numbers from the Joe universe.

I'd say just military, but being that a terrorist organization would hire Assasins, and some of the best Assasins are ninjas, there you are.
