What amazes me is watching the behavior of the people who 'scramble' to meet their respective demand curves. It is part of the theory that not all consumers act logically. Because the best way to get a message across that price is not equal to supply or demand, is simply to stifle demand by not buying the product. Then when the supplier realizes they have set their prices too high, they come down.
In the end, I don't think the incident with the CC info will make a damn bit of difference. People will rant, and complain, and flip out, and still fork their money over. Why SHOULD they listen to us if we give them money regardless? That's the real reason people want to write Hasbro. We want mommy and daddy to fix the problem so we don't have to fix it ourselves and run the risk of not getting our toys. |

This is yet to be seen. It all depends on if and when the sub happens. Some people I know only joined the club to have a shot at the sub figures and if they end up not going through with it, then those do in a way get 'screwed' if their only purpose was to go after those subs and would not have joined had it not been for that.

Singing up for somthig that has not been confirmed 100% as ready to launch and active was thier fault and risk they took, no one got screwed in that deal...they will end up with a footloose figure at a minimum if they already singed up, so whats the big deal? They should have waited till the FSS started to join then...

For that to work there would need to be a lot more solidarity in the community than I have ever seen demonstrated here. I proposed doing the same thing to the club, who have demonstrated a pattern of behavior that indicates they think they can do whatever and it doesn't matter because we will just keep throwing money at them because we want our Footloose more than we want our voices to carry weight with those that we do business with.

You know what? I generally like the club. I like the membership figure. I have a great time at the conventions, I've been to five so far, and plan on attending New Orleans. I'm a major fan of the Golden Ticket, it was great last year. I'm looking forward to the sub, I plan on getting three or four depending on the final price. I really enjoy the con exclusives, I try to pick up at least four sets at each con. Without the club there would be none of this, so I'm glad they are around, even if they are not perfect.
CC fraud happens everywhere. It sucks, but it's just the price of using plastic. I check my statements, fix problems and move on. |

I agree 100% with you. Like so many I have canceled my CC on file with the club and I have changed my password on many sites as I had the same password with the club that I did on other sites. Was it a pain yes, but I took care of it and I have moved on. I don't understand all this piling on top of the Club and what it's going to accomplish. The Club has a huge problem they need to take care of. You would think people would be more supportive and want the Club to take care of CC issue so we can move on to more positive things.
I like the products the Club has provided, but I know people who enjoyed buying from Best Buy until one day they had a terrible experience followed by another bad experience, at which point they decided to buy from another merchant. In the end, I don't want them to succeed; I want them to be EXCELLENT. In all phases of their business. Don't just put out great toys, but be excellent in customer service. Don't make buy from you because you are the only store in town; encourage me to want to buy from you. Right now, I believe the Club should be pushed, and if they don't respond well to it, they should do without business. This seems to be what gets through to them. They are finally beginning to listen to consumers. They seem to get that the FSS ONLY will work with CC orders and without the FSS at this point, they are sunk. I personally believe it will succeed one way or another - either subscription or follow up "fire sales" which might reap more profit. But there is some trust that has to be re-established first, and they are finally, finally starting to get that.

So what are you all going to do when the FSS and Con stuff goes on sale this year? It will, and soon I hope. Will you register for the Con? Oh my! I hope the lines are short. I'm a selfish bastard that way.
So they didn't handle the Fraud the way most would have liked them too. I don't think they were intentionally trying to screw people over. They got into a shit storm they had never experienced and hopefully will learn multitudes from it. I'll be all in again. I'm easy that way. |
