Ok so here it is a positive thread in regards to gi joe!
SO anyway, I was discussing with crimson god the other day about Alley viper's file card. And after reading on here how at the moment there aree a lot of negative threads out there I thought why not combine the 2 thought processes together. I really remember well getting Alley viper back in the ARAH days vertry clearly. My family had gone to my stay at my grand-parents house in the summer holidays for a bit and we went to a shopping mall on a bus journey in london called brent cross. we were going through the shops when in john lewis I noticed new G.I. Joes and straight away with his shield Alley viper had to be mine my mum said no but my nan said ok then and got me it, much to my mothers protest. I was so so happy with it and he became my favourite figure especially after reading how hard core he was!! My nan has since passed away and so I guess that has re-inforced my love of that charecter and gi joe too, in fact I have many many happy memories of my days playing with my action force/gi joes those times have shaped me into who I am today!! Even now I am having new great memories sharing in something im so fond of with really cool and caring people, I have never been part of an online community quite like this before its a really cool thing! So come on guys don't be shy lets post up a few threads or more about some of the good things we have got outta the greatest toyline on the planet!

I remember on my birthday, I got a Wind Raider from my Grandma. When they released the new one last December, I was so happy to get one. I had actually forgotten about that until I was opening mine. Thanks for starting a MOTU thread.

of all things i remember the day grandma ordered me super trooper and delivered him into my hands, i had just gotten alley viper if i remember this all correctly and i took to the weeds to battle endlessly, two shielded warriors the hardest of the hard baddest of the bad....though i rmember pretending AV was CC because of the blue hood underneath.

I remember my dad bringing home Major Bludd and Rock 'n' Roll. Good times!

My dad was a cross country truck driver, so he was gone for long stretches of time and when he was home, it was never for very long.
I came home from school one day, I was in 4th grade, and there he was sitting on the couch. Behind him, tucked in the corner, I could see the top of the box from the original GI Joe HQ. He died in a car accident 4 years later, and I wish I still had that HQ. Out of all the vintage toys, this one means the most to me and I can't wait until I'm able to get a new one |

My Grand parents lived in a different state from us and every Christmas my cousin and I would go to spend the holidays with them. The year that I had turned 13 my Grandpa bought me issue #105 of the Marvel Joe comics, my first Joe comic, and it changed my view of Gi Joe forever. My Grandpa passed away very recently and, while I'm sure he knew, I wish I had of told him how much of an impact that day had on my life.

i remember the day i got my one and only shipment of figures from the flagg points mail away thingy. i got a water moccasin with copperhead, the hiss driver, and a few other figures i missed due to my age (born in 82). the thing that was extra cool about it was that these figures were sooo clean and crisp when compared to the heavily used specimens my older friends had, and i had never seen them in new condition until that day.

cool thread.
i have a lot of great memories of christmas morning from 1984-1987 when i got joe stuff. we'd always get a stocking left by our beds christmas morning so mom and dad could sleep in. every time i look at buzzer and torch i remember (musta been 85) getting them both in my stocking and getting to open them up right away and play with them while everyone else was asleep.
