My wife and I will be moving into a new house in a few months that includes a huge mancave/toyroom for me. I know it will take FOREVER to pack my Joes for the move. Even though I should get started, it depresses me a little the box them all away. This is the most relaxing room in the house, surrounded by troops lined up in formation while jets fly by on fishing line. Am I being a big baby, or just nostalgic?

No, you're not being a baby. I packed up my Joe room almost 8 years ago for a move. The plan was to finish the basement and have a new and improved toy room. Then, the economy tanked and my wife lost her job. Needless to say, the Joes are still boxed, save for one display case that proudly holds my '82 vehicles and loose 25th figures. Just make sure to get those Joes unpacked ASAP! It sucks having to stand there and admire stacks of cardboard boxes!

I moved in August, I would suggest getting some things together, if you can move in early I would try to get some of your stuff in early too. Moving is a huge chore and to be honest the toys have to take a backseat in the unpacking next to plates, clothes, beds (ie the important life stuff), that is unless you are an ass and make your wife/gf do it all herself LOL, but you do stand to lose the mancave if that behavior keeps up (cause she kicks you out).

You are being a big baby.
You have zero choice in the matter. It has to be done. You are about to move into a new place that has a "mancave/toy room" for you. I couldn't get that stuff packed fast enough just at the thought of getting it moved and into it's new location. |

Pack now, Pack them safely or else you will be forced to toss everything quickly into boxes when you need to be doing other things.
Packing now = minimum breakage Packing later = lots of missing things & broken parts. |

I moved across the street two years ago - which was a real pain in the ass - I must have walked across the street 1000 times. Even for that I packed everything up. How disappointed will you be if you end up breaking something because you procrastinated on packing? |

fricken baby, just do it. go buy some 106 qt tubs for 12 bucks at the dollar store, break it all down and start packing. after you move you can set em up again. think of it this way, if you wait til the last minute, you will pack em wrong because of the rush, and if you don't pack em, they will become broken. just do what i say, it will cost you maybe 100 bucks, depends on how much shit you have, but they will be secure and safe. just do it..
