My PO handles all interrogations, and writes psych profiles on all of Cobra Command. Except for Zartan... he's the one that PO can't quite figure out, and he's the one PO would like to spend some time talking to.

That's unfortunate...he's a force mulitplier (only funny if you're mil). PO in my world would dress better and have a more legit set of gear. I think a custom is in order!

PO was misused and still is misused in the comics. I do not recall him from the cartoons. Psychological Warfare is not the practice of psychiatrists. Nor in the 80's did the US practice subliminal messages over ultra low frequencies like the paranoid waves in some of the comics.
PYSOP personnel do nothing with mental health, you could better relate their skill to marketing. They design messages that relate to a theme and deliver them through various mediums ranging from print, broadcast to tactical loudspeakers. The messages may be as obvious as "stop placing IEDs if you want our help" or "go to "here" for assistance" to less obvious messages like human rights promotions through textbooks and commercials. PO in my verse was a true PSYOP officer and did the PSYOP planning for operations. |

Someone else started a thread about Psyche-Out recently:
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...syche-out.html I love his vintage file card (which I stole from that thread): His vintage backpack is a hoot, too. That thread inspired me to kitbash a new version: I've renamed him Placebo. In my 'verse, he uses chemicals, propaganda, and the "low frequency radio waves" of vintage Psyche-Out to induce neurosis, paranoia, despair and full-on existential prolapse in anyone who gets in his way. Put simply, should you cross him, he will trigger flashbacks to acid trips you never knew you'd taken. Or put another way... |
