Ya I've been going over this in my head to.... to open or not to open... but I just can't bring myself to open them, I feel they need to be mint in the package, like many have said, years down the road if and when they get sold or whatever they will still look new and someone in that time can say man these were some kick ass toys.... now if I was rich, I'd buy 2 of each just so my collection would look better on display, but I don't really think opening them would make me a happier person, so they stay in the package.

I feel the same. One to open and one to keep in the package. I collect joes, starwars, lord of the rings, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, south park, And lots of neca product. Those still in the package are taking over my room.

I came to terms a long time ago that I would never sell my collection, so keeping them in the package is of no use to me.
Plus being a person who moves around a lot, it is hard to keep figures safe and sound when they are MOC without buying expensive plastic cases to put them in. Thus I open all my figures except for the ones I pick up for future trades. It's easier to trade a MOC figure than it is a loose one. Doesn't matter if the person I trade with is a MOC collector or an opener.. they will both be happy. Now due to these 25th figures, I can't sell my MOC Battle Corp or Star Brigade figures for anything. I put them on Ebay and had no bids..even though they only started at $5 and no reserve or high shipping. Plan to put them back up later this week and hope for something.

Same reason you like to take your out of the box. It is just the inverse. The sense of still having it new in the box and never been touched. You can also if they stay in very very good mint condition later on in 50 years sell them off to uber ebay people who like yourself will have all the fun in the world opening them up after 50 years!
Beware the CH3SiClC03 gas though when you open them later on... |

I get just as much enjoyment not opening them and just looking at them now, as i did playing with them when i was a kid. I buy 1 of each, and any ones i think are realllly cool i get a double to open. I dont play with my toys like when i was a kid (well not when anyones looking) so its just as fun to display them for me.
