Yeah, Walmart sucks. Mine haven't carried Joes for awhile. At least they do in CO where I'm moving to, so that'll be good.

How is it Hasbor's fault that Wal-mart has over the last few years decided to carry less toys and chooses to only focus on the major movie or cartoon tie in toys?
Wal-mart controls every aspect of their inventory: if they will even carry a product, how much they carry, and the price-point. Most manufacturers lose money on product sold at Wal-mart but want the exposure and make it up elsewhere. Toys are no different. Hasbro's Marvel and Transformer products are usually at Wal-Mart so I assume they sell enough there to make up for the tiny margin. But I doubt GI Joe does enough to warrant a big push. Especially when so much is available via e-retailers. Also, each Wal-mart is stocked based on their sales trends over the last few years and product types that sell well. If you don't see a product at your Wal-mart, of any type, that's because that product hasn't traditionally sold well at that location. My question is why does it seem that certain Waves only get released to Walmart and Online? I have seen a couple of you spoke of seeing Wave 4 at Walgreens but all my Walgrreens, which I have about 50 within driving range all have 30th figures and I bought all the troop builders during the buy one get one free week so the rest will rot for years, some still have ROC Wave 1... So I guess if you live in an area with multiple collectors who clear pegs then those Walmarts will keep ordering and thus those collectors will see the new Waves and multiple cases of them... So basically I can say like many of you it seems I am hosed! Forget troop building Techno Viper, Zombie Ziper or getting several SS's... Also we know Walmart and all the retailers have put out the last of their stock by now and will not be ordering GI Joe or any toys until spring/summer so if you haven't found your fill of Wave 3 and 4 by now good luck with Ebay and Amazon... |

Don't feel too bad bro, there is nary a Joe figure to buy in the San Diego area or the Northern L.A. area, unless they're hitting Panorama City Walmart I wouldn't know, I wouldn't be paid 50.00 to go there.

None of the WM's in two states that I travel through has ever clearenced ROC stuff. One of them had 9 pegs of ROC Storm Shadow until this summer when they finally clearenced him. another one has ROC wave 1 to the gills, no room for any others, however ironicly it is one of the better WM's near me for Marvel Universe.
The only WM to clearence out ROC is the one closest to me but they also clearence pretty randomly. However they are also the ones that get the most stock going through. |
