Just curious because, sometimes, when I see a nicely crafted dio-shot, seeing this little silver leg screw can be a bit distracting. Sometimes, the photos are edited to cover them up, too.
But I was really wondering if anyone did this and had some photos or links to pics.

nearly every custom you see here has them painted but i've never noticed it being done to fresh out of the package figures.

I really dont know why I dont paint them. Part of it is probably because the parts are disassembled when I paint the parts. The other reason I think why I dont is because of the fact I want them to have that vintage toy feeling...good question.

I melt some clear wax into the ones I put in the water, to keep them from rusting.

i've seen some on JoeCustoms.com that have had Fixit puttied into the socket and sculpted to conceal the hole, then painted up. Looks good but i would be too paranoid to do it.

Great question.
I too find the screws distracting, and I usually attempt to obscure them with posing and composition in my photos. I just got a Shadow Tracker yesterday, and I had some plastic rings from a Hit and Run belt piece that I dissected, and they fit nicely on his legs and serve two functions: they hide the screws and I'm able to store some knives there. I'm hoping to take photos later today (early tomorrow morning, for most of you). |

On my customs I touch them up with silver paint if they are rusty.
