possibly going to be spending $400.00 on a sub for 13 collector figures?
This goes out to those of you who are married and your significant other doesn't really care much for this particular hobby ;) Thanks for the info! |

It's easy. Take part of the money you earn and buy them.

Tell her your going to buy them regardless so you might as well get them for the cost of the club before they double or triple or whatever they do in price.
My wife hates it also but she understands. What does she buy that you think is a waste of money? Cigerettes, Liquor(well not really a waste), Nick-Nacs for the house or whatever she buys you can find something to say" you buy this stuff and I don't like it, but I don't tell you, you can't have it" Guys be understanding, $400 on toys is a lot of money for some couples. |

In my opinion the answer to this question is really a bigger question about how you approach collecting and the cost with your spouse.
I set aside an amount per paycheck for me and my wife as allowance for whatever we want to buy. Depending on bills and such, this can change throughout the year but may be anywhere from $20-50 every two weeks. I know this is a blessing and not everyone can afford that luxury. Anyway, the point here is that we each get spending money to use for a hobby, entertainment, or whatever no questions asked. And then when a bonus, taxes, or whatever comes in we look at our needs, bills, and what not to decide if a portion of it can be split between us for hobbies or entertainment. So whatever I buy with that money, is mine to decide. But if I don't have the money saved up, then I don't get it. That's my fault. Not like we don't know what's coming out for the next few quarters. Or sell something to make up the difference. It really boils down to "does she have a problem with the money being spent" or "does she have a problem with you collecting toys". They are two very different conversations. |

I don't know which is more detracting, your missdirected newbies comment or your b@@bies picture.
No secracy in the truth. Ypou know there will be those who complain about them now but later will dish out more cash later. |

You have to sell it -- remind her that these are not figures sold in stores. Tell her you'll cut back in other areas of spending or that you'll sell something to make up the difference. Also suggest it as a Christmas present. As a LAST resort, remind her that she (probably) spends money on shoes and purses that aren't necessary.
