I can relate to this as good as anybody. I'm in FL, and a friend and I have literally hit up practically every Wal Mart from St. Pete to Orlando, and have not found a single figure from wave 3. It's ridiculous. We have stores that have so many cases of wave 1 & 2 on the shelves that they had to lay figures on top of the pegs. It drives me crazy, I'm probably just gonna end up ordering a case of 3 & 4 together from HTS now, so I don't have to go through this again when wave 4 hits. FL is really hit or miss when it comes to new product.

My local stores SUCK, so I have to get most of the stuff online. But I still go hunting to see if I can luck out.

Luckily, drunknmunky will hit me up with a PM if he knows I want particular figures and he spots them on the pegs. He's real good about that! I have also done the same for him, but no word either way on Wave 3 yet!

I don't like "the hunt" as it is a real waste of my time and I do not have a lot, but I dont like ordering online unless I really have to cause I do not trust Hasbro's quality control. How many POC Cobra The Enemy do you have with wandering eyes? Or crappy paint applications on POC Recondo or other details. So many times I will pick thru half a dozen before deciding on the best one. I cannot do that online, but god do I hate the freakin hunt. Its so stupid when I think about what I am chasing.

I've always done a bit of both. Used to be stores seemed to skip waves time to time, so I made sure to get orders in at HTS. These days though HTS can be hit or miss as a source for figures. Of the 6 stores I use to hit regulalry, only 4 still carry joes. Of those 4, 3 are loaded with pegwarmers, so new stock is hard to come by. Especially with an increase in collectors in the area. 25th, with fewer produced was much easier to find than POC or 30th. Don't have much choice but to go online.
For some strange reason it seems that stores will get in 1 or 2 cases of the highly sought after figures, but then get in 5 or 6 cases of 'pegwarmer' heavy cases. Wish I knew how to prevent that.

looking for new figures in stores is the only justifiable reason for me to go grocery shopping with my wife. I don't get my hopes up though.

Florida obviously has a strong Joe fan base, we've hosted two conventions, have the longest sightings thread on Hisstank, and even organize swap meets every few months, so it's not like we don't have the fans to support the new product as it's released. I think whoever is doing the ordering for these retail stores is, they need to take a look at their sales numbers. When Wal-Mart dropped Joes before, I don't think it's because of the product, it's because you have to base your ordering on sales, and clearly they don't. You know, like everyone might buy a new computer ever few years but that doesn't mean Wal-Mart should have 50,000 of them in stock expecting them all to sell, before they put the new models out.
