Maybe this might be harsh, but I'm getting really tired of these people. If this is too harsh, be easy on me!
Here's my idea: A bunch of us order some GI Joes from scalpers on ebay, then.... we NEGATIVE FEEDBACK THEIR ASSES. Whaddya think? |

I think an even better idea is to not bid on ANY of their auctions...EVER, that way they have to return Joes to the stores.
If this happens enough times, scalpers just might disappear for good. Remember, scalpers ONLY exist because WE are willing to pay MORE because it JUST came out and we HAVE to have it NOW. If we ALL were a little more patient and not panic when a new wave comes out, maybe be willing to wait a month or 2 until everything is the same price, you might see a big change. No one's hurting for Crimson Guards any more but remember "the craze" ??? ...and Vipers...soon BATs. Anyhoo, that's my idea.

Well, that's a great idea, but....
The problem is that I didn't find out about the 25th anniversary thing until well after Wave 1 and 2, so I missed out on a lot of the figures I want and the stores don't have them anymore. Therefore, the only place I can get them IS ebay, which really sucks. |

Well there you go, can't live with 'em & can't live without 'em.
There's good & bad to the whole thing...good=availability, bad=prices.

Yes.
And it's worth noting that people selling wave 1 & 2 are less likely to be "scalpers" than people selling wave 9(new stuff).

What are you looking for, MelodicJimmy?
I have almost the full wave I don't mind selling. I just don't have any more Bats. I traded it for a Major Bludd. I have the rest though, Ninja Ku, Hawk, Snow Serpent, BBQ, and Bazooka. I bought them for $7.99 each and you can have them for the same plus shipping. Just LMK. PM me if you want. |

I've been amused by the equitable number of threads here complaining about scalpers and threads discussing purchasing new items on ebay pretty much the first month they start showing up at retail. Not to mention others here boasting of scalping items from other lines like the Dark Knight Joker. I bet there are more collectors who are silent scalpers than "Scalperman" characters running around, especially in the GIJOE community which is the most ruthless fanboy feeding frenzy I've ever been a part of. I'm also quite sure it's collectors who do that "figure swap" thing people hate so much. They just don't own up to it. |
