Okay, I'm omitting Snake Eyes, simply because he's on every list, and he's been elevated to God status. "he can do anything, he never fails, etc."
Stalker would lead this party. I've always felt Stalker was a very underrated leader. In the comics, anyway. Rock 'N Roll would bring the heavy firepower. Dusty is a brawler, and I'd like to have that extra punch in there Grunt. Dependable. Basic, yeah, but I like him. I know he'd have everyone's back. Steel Brigade Trooper. why? Because I'm not gonna miss out on the battle!

My Joe team consists of two elements. The elements can work together or separately. When i was a kid i never had any of these figures, so I'm leaving out any of the ones i would have done as a kid or build a squad on sentimentality. I think these guys are the backbone of GI Joe as a franchise and a military unit.
Although, i could replace a few here and there depending on the job, i could be comfortable if none of the other characters ever existed. Well, maybe not ever existed, but we would only see other characters inside their respective military units. For instance, Wild Bill wouldn't be a member of the Joe team, but might be the helicopter pilot that would always fly them out to their missions, etc. Plus you could have advisors like Snow Job that could help the team through the artic, but would not be a part of the team themselves. I really like the way reloaded did it. That's just the way i roll. Headquarters - These guys pull the strings and get them on the mission. The last link the Joe team has to the military. Colonel (No General Here) "Hawk" - Commander Chief Warrant Officer (W4) "Flint" - XO Squad 1 First Sergeant "Duke" - Squad 1 Leader (Field Commander) Staff Sergeant "Snake Eyes" - Close Combat Staff Sergeant "Lady Jaye" - Intel Sergeant "Dusty" or "Lowlight" Sergeant "Roadblock" - Heavy Support Squad 2 Master Sergeant "Stalker" - Squad 2 Leader (Field XO) Sergeant First Class "Beachhead" Sergeant "Scarlett" - Close Support Sergeant "Flash" - Computers Corporal "Rock and Roll" - Heavy Support I made the majority of them mid to high level NCOs due to the level of experience neccessary to complete the missions GI JOE would be tasked with. The younger ones, such as Rock and Roll would have come from distinquished units and would have been enticed back into service at the end of his first tour. Others, like Flash and Lady Jaye would have shown promise within their fields and had the neccessary security clearances to do the job.

Actually, its hard to nail down a crew without knowing what it is they're doing.
For example, on a quick but quiet in-and-out, I might send SE, Stormie, Scarlett, Spirit, and Low-Light. If it were a quickie but with some heavy confrontation, I might send Beachhead, Gung-Ho, Shockwave, Leatherneck, and post-dead-LJ Flint.

Like a ton of people have already commented, you can't really have a 5 man (person) team without having a mission. Therefore, I have spent way too much time coming up with this. It's okay, I rarely do this. My consolidated team is at the bottom:
Urban: Shockwave (Expert) Low Light (Sniper, Team Leader) Mutt & Junkyard (K-9) Urban Roadblock (MG) Clutch (Vamp 1 vehicle support, Comm) Arctic: Snow Job (Expert) Iceberg (MG) Frostbite (Snow Cat vehicle support, Comm) Arctic Stalker (Ranger, Team Leader) Blizzard (Infantry) Jungle: Recondo (Expert) Falcon (Special Forces, Team Leader) Breaker (Comm) Rock 'n' Roll (MG) Gung Ho (Grenadier) Mountain: Alpine (Expert) Hit & Run (Infantry) Leatherneck (Grenadier, Team Leader) Dial Tone (Comm) Heavy Duty (MG/Heavy Weapons) Desert: Dusty (Expert) Outback (Survival) Repeater (MG, Team Leader) Crankcase (AWE Striker vehicle support, Comm) Spearhead (Infantry) Woodland: Footloose (Expert) Grunt (Infantry) Duke (Infantry, Leader) Beachhead (Ranger) Tunnel Rat (MG) Maritime: Cutter (Whale vehicle support, Comm) Torpedo (Expert, Seal, Team Leader) Wet Suit (Seal) Beachhead (Ranger) Leatherneck (Grenadier) Air assault: Flint (Team Leader) Airborne (Expert) Crazylegs (Expert) Lift Ticket (Tomahawk support) Bombstrike (FAC) Mechanized: Heavy Metal (Tank support, Comm) Thunder (Artillery support) Sgt. Slaughter (Warthog support, Team Leader) Bazooka (Anti-tank) Zap (Anti-tank) Covert: Snake Eyes (Commando) Storm Shadow (Ninja, Silent Weapons) Scarlett (Covert Ops) Low light (Sniper) Beachhead (Ranger, Team Leader) Recon: Lady Jaye (Expert) Stalker (Ranger) Torpedo (Seal, Team Leader) Tunnel Rat (MG) Low Light (Sniper) Combined (all around): Flint (Leader) Beachhead (Ranger) Snake Eyes (Commando) Tunnel Rat (MG) Low Light (Sniper) Feel free to peck at it. It's tough to think of everything over lunch break (+/-). |
