Well...technically...my son got me back into GI Joe.
Long story short...I blew my knee out at work...was off while it healed after surgery. Towards the end of recovery...the wife needed something from the storage area in the house...so I go with my son in tow. He finds my original GI Joe collection...and got "The Look" on his face (the look we all had when we first seen joe's back in the 80's). From that day on...we were full force into collecting joes. Sadly...our area has lousy stores locally...so we decided to customize off brand vehicles into GI Joe items. It's been a great ride...and I'm loving every minute of it. I don't know who gets more excited about the new stuff...him or me. lol

I don't have kids, but back during the Spytroops and VvV days I got most of the neighborhood kids into Joes. I've since moved so I don't know if they kept the enthusiasm

Not so much with my daughter, but she will dig the Combat Heros.

I'm a proud dad. The other day I was setting up my Dreadnok display when my son told me to come to the other side of the basement to see what he had done....
It brought tears to my eyes. I've never forced toys on him but he enjoys helping me set things up and display them so now he does it too. My buddy gave me an old record player stand which my son asked if he could use for his toys so I gave it to him and he sets up his Transformers and Star Wars Galactic Heroes in it. He's gonna be six and we hit any toy or comic show that we can. It's a blast! |

I brought the old GI Joes out of the attic for my son and I to play with. He is only 3-1/2 but I couldn’t wait any longer. This is when I found out about the 25th line and I have been going nuts collecting everything 25th ever since.
He loves playing GI Joe with me. We have it pretty much permanently set up in our house and we play every chance we get. (I have to say that the wife is not as happy about it as we are though) I on the other hand couldn't be happier. My son and I have a blast together and I feel like a kid again. |

I tried to get my nephew into 'em, not sure if I was successful as for the most part he got bored of them kinda quickly. I played with him with the things, even ran over duke with one of the tanks just to get some laughs and I didn't really get beyond that. I'm not about to give up hope though, I'll keep trying when he comes around, as he does every so often.

Yeah, it's the old playmobil castle. It was well worth the cost when I picked it up years ago. I plan on using it for a Destro/IG display but in the meantime it's used for what it was intended to be...a cool and durable kids playset. I think playmobil is some of the best made stuff qualitywise ever made.
