Interesting piece. I've never seen one before, so unfortunately I won't be much help.

I'm assuming since it's called the "Desimone Race Car" it was made for one of the early conventions like the Desimone State Trooper figure?
This is the first I've heard of such a piece EDIT: Went to yojoe looking for the Police Officer figure and I found this: http://www.yojoe.com/action/conventi...ardriver.shtml Last edited by Shogi; 11-12-2011 at 10:55 AM.. |

Desimone was a premiere Jo guy before the Collector's Club existed. He was one of the first to publish a guide for 3 3/4" Joes and their equipment (before YoJoe existed) and did several conventions for G.I. Joe fans. Although predominantly a 12" collector (and his blow molded exclusives show that) he did some 3 3/4" work. This is one of his. He did a 12" scale LSV, Batmobile, Tank, and more too. As the Collector's Club became sanctioned and the internet really took hold his conventions and publications faded. I remember hearing something about his wife being sick too which stopped the Joe extras but I can't confirm that.

At some point, Hasnro gave him a complete ARAH set (US), which he used to make his guide book (I think it was all MOC/MIB and he opened it). I remember too he sold his entire collection of 3 3/4 figures on eBay several years ago. As already stated, he was a 12" guy and I felt his heart was never in the smaller stuff.
He also made some convention "Infiltrator Jinx" figures that could be removed and replaced on the card and had crude cobra sigils on their chests (there were two similar versions). |

wow. we have ventured into obscure, fringe collector status here.
interesting piece. I would say if you have this in your collection, you have a very very rare find. |
