Thanks in advance for any help.
NM just found them and they look pretty sweet especially for the price |

Back on topic: I'm personally not into AFA figures, but I'm not really a MOC collector either. I have a few some are for fond memories and others I just plain lucked out on (Like My MOC Cobra Soldier ) Then there's the TOXO-Zombie but that's a whole other story. I like my toys loose, I like to pose them and set up dios and such. With $6,000 I can buy a couple of huge collections instead of one figure (That's just smart math in my book) |

the problem with AFA is that it's just an imaginary entity that provides this grading service.
I've seen AFA graded Joes, TFers & Star Wars sell for thousands of dollars more than a standard ungraded figure. Great, the figure is AFA graded and sealed - but who or what is AFA? What backing or reputation do they have? What credentials do they provide, to ensure their grading is competent and valid? Just because someone says it's graded at a certain level and worth x amount, doesn't mean anything. And on top of that, Wizard/Toy Fare and AFA are a little too closely associated to give AFA any sort of real credibility... |

I've said this elsewhere, but to re-cap: A buddy of mine sent a figure in to AFA to be graded. Came back with a low grade. He removed it from the case...sent it back in under someone elses name...and got a completely different grade. How? No idea. I personally think AFA....well...I'm not going to defame a business that I have never personally dealt with. That being said..."a fool and his money..." Quote:

AFA ... just a company who said...het wait a sucker is born every minute lets get all thier money...we package a figure in a plastic case and put our seal of approval so some poor bum pays through the roof.
I agree it is a huge scam and can't wait for the day they go out of business.

I'd much rather have a near perfect, loose Stormshadow for $75-$100 than one MOC graded AFA 80-90 for $1000-$6000 thats me personally...in situations like this...the value only comes from the person willing to pay the most. |
