Recent discussions on the boards where some people have stated that they feel Hasbro should take GI Joe in a more straight military direction got me thinking about the advancements in technology over the last 30 years. My question is this..."How much of the Science Fiction is now Science Fact?".

directed energy weapons (such as sci-fis laser and pack) are very feesible and are ebeing worked on as we speak. The issue is just the power aspect, they need to get it small enough and light enough to carry. Guass weapons and rail gun technology are also being steadily increased. They got that navy rail gun up to 1.3 megajoules of kinetic energy a few days ago, thats like having a 1.5 ton vehcile moving at you at 100mph!
Sci-tech at its finest...

I read somewhere that all Joe vehicles were based off current stuff, stuff that was planned, or future ideas the military had and scrapped. If you look at some of the vehicles this is true...

Yeah the mauler was going to be a real tank i seen real pics of that thing all over the net. Skystrikers were F-14s, X-19s were concept stealth fighters that revel made models that were similar all sorts of comparisons.

tesla made the death ray or, had invisioned it., and had this invision of the future that had sparked the sci fi craze, and look, sci fi has infact became sci fact. science is fact, the whole earth is built and based on science, the more humans play around with it, the more we open up pandoras box, science is endless, and is a factual thing, i'd say, it's fiction prior to figuring out how to make it a fact, but it indeed is already fact, we just haven't figured out the recipe for it in which makes it fiction.
if that makes any sense Last edited by Unclassified; 11-10-2011 at 04:25 PM.. |

it could be done.. it either runs of magnetism, or it's a hover craft. both have been done, japan has the train that is ran off magnetism and don't touch rails, as far as i believe, and hover crafts are old news now..

Tell me your mind wasn't blown the day some crazy Swede decided to make a functional Cobra C.L.A.W.
And how about the powered armor everybody said was ridiculous? Face it, HALO style armor suits are 10, maybe 20yrs away at this rate. We're going to have 500lbs human juggernauts jumping rooftops carrying chainswords and bolter cannons and the chase in RoC will looks tame by comparison. |
