I was just talking about this idea with my 6 year old son the other day. He asked when we could play the GI Joe Monopoly game and I said it would have been even better if it was Risk. He had no idea what I was talking about and had to explain the game to him.
I definitely think it’s a great idea but I doubt they would ever do it. |

Marauder John had a chess board set up at a Con once. He used his clear and black stands as the board (they connect together). I can't remember exactly what figures he used, but it was a cool set up.

I had tons of the Joe trading card game cards. I really liked the art, but never played the game.
One of my favorite games to play as a kid was Hero Quest. A Joe Hero Quest game Would be sweet! The main board could be Cobra Island or something. The figures would be a core group of Joes, and cobra baddies. Expansion packs could include extra figures and maps of the cobra Silent Castle, the Cobra Consulate building, and even the Pitt.

Just saw Risk: Legacy...didn't know about this game coming out and I also usually collect every version of Risk (except the Transformers one, that one was a stretch).
Not sure about them going in this new direction with a beloved classic like Risk. From what I have read, they want the game to be "personalized" so that games are continuations of previous battles creating a sort of history, building on the grudges some people hold from previous games and alliances. There are also things you can unlock and no two games are the same. I don't know about this, I just want a Joe edition of Risk with elements of the cartoon and comic.
