When these things came out, a local mall did a big promotion where they actually had lifesize versions of the toys inside the mall. It seemed strange and random, like they were assuming the toys would be big sellers. For anybody who grew up in the Philadelphia area, it was the Oxford Valley Mall. Am I the only one who remembers this?

Hey Guys, just an FYI - You'd be surprised how many of these go unnoticed at Garage Sales/Flea Markets/etc. Next time you're out & about and run across a GS/FM, be sure to look around!

Dude, you have no idea how happy this post has made me. For years, I have been trying to find out the name of these vehicles and nobody I talked w/ knew what the hell I was talking about.
I was in 4th grade and could only find these at Service Merchandise. The figures sucked but the vehicles were bad as sh*t. I, too, used these for Dreadnoks to re-enact Mad Max inspired story lines. Thanks again. Quote:
Did anyone else use the old "junkyard style" Tonka trucks back in the 80's with the dreadnoks? Those were kickass trucks.
They had guns, graffiti, armor etc all over them. Here's 2 on ebay: TONKA GRADER ( THE MASHER) NO RESERVE - eBay (item 180272399813 end time Aug-08-08 11:49:56 PDT) TONKA STEEL MONSTERS BLASTER AND TALON 2601 GUN TRUCK - eBay (item 230277166931 end time Aug-10-08 20:44:16 PDT) I used to have these and use them as they were perfect. Need to find the others. |

I had the masher and my brother had the enforcer. I wonder if they're still in my parents basement.
