Gonna try the AFA out this weekend and wandered if anyone has had figures graded from there. Im sending 3 figures in star cases, packed extremely well.
Do you get the star cases back? Which case is more worth the money, standard or ultra violet? Are the cases able to be opened once they put the figure in? 90 dollars seems alot to have 3 figures graded, let alone the shipping costs. do they charge you to ship it back as well? feel like im going to end up spending around 125 here. sending of the SDCC Blue and black commanders and the SDCC silver destro, id hate for these things to get lost in the mail, any1 ever had any shipping problems? thanks.

Hey McKee, there are a couple threads about sending figures in. I was nervouse sending in 2 gold destros, 2 RRP, 2 silver destro's but I packaged them very well and they did receive, graded them, and returned. You do need to pay for shipping on the way back and they do return the same number of starcases.
You can send them an email and they will tell you what they were graded as they send them back to you. Easy folks to deal with and they responded to email quickly. Have some more stuff I need to send in. |

I've sent all of my vintage '82 collection for grading
without a hitch! They answer any questions you have and are easy to deal with all around. The cases they provide would have to be broken in order to take the figure out and very secure. Make sure to keep the bag they ship them in if you ever sell the piece later on.

I would also go with the UV case so
the figure packaging doesn't lose color when exposed to natural light. You can also save yourself some money if you choose a longer time period to have your figures graded.

You will get the same number of star cases back, but they might not be the ones you sent.

You get charged the cost of which ever tier you choose. That will be up to you depending on how fast you want them back. You have to pay for the shipping to them and the shipping back. I find that they charge more for the return shipping because of using UPS. |
