I don't agree with hiding toys. Fairness aside (life isn't fair), it messes up the stores inventories, which in the end, could be why most stores aren't ordering new Joes as fast as they need to. Well, once the supply from Hasbro gets to the next level.

I don't see a real diffrence between hiding, hoarding, Army Building, customizing, scalping, MOC & Loose Collector. Because if someone goes into a store and sees empty pegs, these are the people who will get blamed by someone not being able to find new figures. Yeah one or two may be bad, but it all really boils down to the same thing-someone is always gonna be beating you to the punch.

I hide toys. I saw in one post why are grown people hiding toys? my answer is why are grown people buying toys? to me that is no different. I don't hide them in the toys other parts of the store that never get checked.I have no problem buying them right that sec. except for I get home try to let someone else have it that was asking for it then for them to say they don't want or need then I have to go back to walmart and wait 15 to 30 min in the return area. I am sure the person I just sold 5 Bats to was happy that I hide them for a couple of hours. I hide the BATS came back a hour or so and the Joes had been trashed if I left them they would have been gone

Hiding toys because you can't afford to get them or pay for them when you see them is lame in my opinion. If you want them that bad, put it on a credit card or maybe ask customer service if they will hold them for you. Otherwise, deal with reality and accept the fact that you will have to let them sit on the shelf. It just seems like a juvenille way of being selfish and unable to cope with the idea of not being able to have somthing. I found a hidden stash of 2 BATS and a Snow Serpent at my local Target the other day. I quickly put those suckers up on the Joe pegs where they belong!
And hiding toys isn't the same. The store can't inventory the items. And if the person who hides them for whatever reason never comes back the store could have a lot of hidden items lost in the store for a long time (I remember a story on this board a while back where somebody who worked in retail found a giant stash of toys underneath a floor display or in a shelf rack that was 2 or 3 years old. I'm not positive, but most stores don't want you moving their merchandise and hiding it. If you haven't paid for it, you don't own it so it's not yours. Hiding merchandise that isn't yours just seems petty at best. Why not just ask the front desk or customer service to hold the items? Which almost all retailers will do for up to store closing hours (some will do it for longer periods of time).

Hiding stuff is retarded. If I can't afford it (wich is sometimes the case) I either don't look for it, or leav it on the peg.
Hiding seems rather childish, and thats comming from a 27 year old who still plays with toys. |

I ask a target near me to hold a case of the hiss night specter and the other so that I can run to the bank to get some cash to save 10% they said that they could not hold them so just used the debit card didn't want to take the chance of not getting them. And asking walmart to hold some again would take 15 to 30 min at the service desk which I could have been home and back with the money in the time to ask them to hold something.
