You hear it, and you know it would be horribly disrespectful to do so, but the little voice in your head that still likes toilet humour and fart jokes immediately chimes in... And you want to laugh.
Anybody who has been in the Military, or is currently serving in the Military have any stories involving any names of superior officers that you had to fight the urge not to smirk, or laugh out loud the first time you heard them? Like an actual Colonel with the last name Sanders? I've heard from someone, may have been my best friend Jed (hisstanker "Tollbooth") about a commanding officer who's last name was actually a rank, I'd swear it was Major or something. Anything ironic, or silly or that reminds you of something- Post it here please. This is not in any way meant to be disrepectful to ANYONE serving, I hope it is not taken that way. But after seeing the thread about real life codenames, my curiosity was piqued. This is just an excercise in human observation and/or irony. |

Niiiiiiiiice! I feel bad for ANY private with the last name Ryan or Ryon after Spielberg's movie came out- you know he's getting teased about it by the guys.
There's this Bruce Dickinson song Dive, Dive, Dive on his first solo album... The main character is called Seaman Staines... Last edited by In Like Flint; 08-17-2011 at 02:19 PM.. |

Not military related, but there were two Jehovah's Witnesses' elders that would go door to door in my hometown. Their last names were Wood and Johnson.

Oh right cause JW's have "Elders" however they are in the literal sense elder and are not the only one a door knocking.
In Mormonism every male is an "Elder" And I can recall a joke about an "Elder Johnson" that my Dad's friend would tell. *Disclaimer* Hopefully here this does not upset the Mod Gods as it's religious based. |
