C'mon fellow tankers, is it fair to compare an item created in 1986 to an item made in 2008? When you do such in this debate fashion you compromise the value and impact of said item during that era. There's no debate. The 25th B.A.T. is a superb remake of a fan favorite that catches the prestige and posture of the '86 B.A.T. and adds enough articulation and detail to lure the modern collector. Fair enough? |

Without question the new BAT is better IMO with the detailed attachments and the brushed metal look is very cool. I was lucky to find two.

New BAT all the way!
I always thought the original looked like a 'guy in a suit' and the fact that it was an android never really leapt out at me. The new version is sleeker and just plain meaner as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry... just want to point out... the original BAT did not have a hologram sticker. Holograms were not widely used and were, at the time, too expensive to mass produce (one of the leading causes of the demise to the Visionaries line). The decal that is on the original ARAH B.A.T. is a lenticular* decal.
*Lenticular being a process where at least 2 images and a lenticular lens are used to interlace the images and provide either a 3D effect or showing 1 image turning into another. I like the sculpted mechanics just fine, and over all, with the exception of no real place to hold all his arm attachments while his normal hand is on, the 25th Anni. BAT is an awesome fig that far surpasses the original. |
