The only thing that has really held me back from going all online is that it really doesn't work very well for army building. So far I've gotten six of the new PoC Cobra Soldiers, but that was always just by going to a store I was either passing by on my way home from work, or because I needed to go to the store. If I just wanted one of each, online would definitely be the way to go.

Ok so I should probably chime in on this. I buy everything at retail. I don't odder online. I drive to 3 Targets, 2 TRU and 2 Wal Marts about twice a week. Here's the catch- my car gets 10 miles per gallon. I know for a fact that it would be cheaper for me to buy online than it would be for me to odder then online. But I like the thrill of the hunt. It's awesome finding figures on the shelf, rather than in a box on my doorstep. Not to mention if collectors stop buying at retail then we might stop seeing them there in the future.

Online is only good if you intend to buy complete waves.
If you are just someone who wants a couple of figures it will add up. That single named character figure you want will cost twice as much after shipping. If you want a single Army builder you're going to be paying at least twice as much before shipping. My Toy runs never take me beyond 5 miles from my home. Maybe the cost of gas increase the total cost to me but I don't see it that way. I'm going out for other things besides Toys. If I stop to check a store for toys on my way to another place what is the cost to me? A couple of minutes? |

Threads like this make me realize how lucky I am. I have two Walmarts about 8 miles round trip from my house. Both never stopped carrying Joe's and I have gotten all of the figures I wanted. Plus I pass one or the other depending on which way I drive home. I know this isn't common place. Everything I read is how shit-tastic Walmart and their Joe carrying practices are. Not trying to thumb my nose at anyone just sharing my hunting experience.

ebay works for me because i only actually like toys AFTER they stop making them...army building 25th/ME...didn't start for me until AFTER they were out of retail stores (i was trying the whole "buy one and done")
or when i wanted a dozen night ravens...i was 8 and my parents said "no" well now i'm a rebellious man-child with income of my own...and why stop at 12? when 20 sounds better? i can't exactly run out to walmart for a night raven...so ebay works for me...and i can ebay from work home or on the go...ebay has an app...and i make heavy use of it |

I have been ordering online more and more...so frustrating finding the same old joes on pegs time and time again. The last wave I actually found in stores were the jungle viper wave...since then have just went the bigbad route....
I find myself finding a lot of MU figures that I want in stores a lot more than I do joes... |

When I first saw your title I thought this thread was about how people have less money to spend on ebay due to paying more at the pump.

Depends....I've been purchasing online now. The years of hunting in three difft. counties at every Wal-Mart, Target and K-Mart (inc. Big Lots and Ross) are not even worth it.
