So Hasbro has been at it for near 30 years now and we've been buying them for all that time.
What do you suppose was the best selling item of all time? Be it figure or vehicle which do you think sold the most. |

My guess would be the Hiss tank version 1 just because it's really popular and the mold has been used over and over again throughout the 30 years.
I wish they would do a wide released chrome one for the 30th aniversary. Unfortunately the coolest one is also the rarest |

Well whatever it is it would have come out between the years 1982-1986. Kirk Bozigian said at JoeCon that 86 was the peak of Joe sales. He also said the original Cobra Commander mail away was hugely successful and literally flooded their mail room, so that maybe?
I would have to assume it was a figure and not a vehicle since they are so much cheaper that would automatically have to mean they were produced in greater quantities. |

Think of what we see the most of at the hobby shops. I'd say Cobra Commander, the first two versions of Snake Eyes, the Armadillo tank, the Dragonfly, and the RAM cycle have to be close to the top!

are you including mail-aways? because I buy lots often. the hiss/mobat/skyhawk are really common.
as far as retail numbers go... sales usually mean that the store bought them. So any peg warmers from 86 must be up there... or left overs from 85. |

I thought I remember reading somewhere that the Devilfish was the best-selling Joe vehicle of the 80's run, which would probably make it the best-selling Joe vehicle of all time.

That's an easy one- version 1 Viper. I mean come on, if one person claims to have 13,500 imagine how many were actually sold!

I doubt any of the modern era stuff can even hold a candle (units sold-wise) to even the poorest performing pre-1991 Joe figure or vehicle. (With the exception of the large playsets and retailer exclusives)
