A staged takeover would be fun! Are cruise ships run with the same caution airlines are these days? If so, I don't think this idea would have a chance.

No. You do a con and you can leave when you're ready. A cruise just means your stuck on a boat for a week.

Nah, cruises are overrated. And I'd hate being stuck on a boat for a week+.
And a staged takeover's novelty would wear out pretty quick when the "terrorists" really couldn't enforce any of their demands and had to make exceptions with the hostages because Gary left his medication in his room, Bill wasn't finished with his buffet meal and Pete's kids really need to use the bathroom... Now if you could get real pirates to take over the boat. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 05-14-2011 at 04:30 PM.. |

Joecon as a cruise?
Fascinating. Yeah, I'd do it.

Re-post from CI:
Well, if we're talking logistics, most vessels would sail out of either FL, NY or CA. Assuming that the cruise would be along the lines of the ST and Disney themed ones, we're talking mostly the Caribbean. If that's the case, you'd need a Passport depending on what ports of entry the vessel docks at. All in all, you'd be looking at a decent penny after it all. The only way it would "make sense", is if the cost of all Con Schwag was baked in to the package price. If not, then it would get really expensive really quickly. Imagine how cool it would be though if the Cruise would offer port tours to locations that either sell toys or produce them. |

I'd be down.
It would never happen though. Would be the only way I could ever get my wife to go to a joecon. In fact, I wouldn't say @#$% about it being joecon, just 'hey honey, I found a cheap cruise, booked online.. we're leaving on __________" get there, oh look at all this cool gi joe stuff! they must really know their passengers well...
