I bought pretty much the whole Marvel run including Special Missions for $1-2 each at a local comic shop about 3 years ago. Didn't get the last 4 issues as they're more expensive, but I just wanted physical copies to read (I'm organic that way) so I didn't care about condition (which is why they didn't cost that much).
If you've never read Marvel GIJOE from the 80's and 90's, please do so. It is definitive and you will understand why people are so passionate about it. Even what's regarded as some of the hokier elements of GIJOE are handled rather deftly. Or maybe I just like Larry Hama's vocabulary and bitchy sense of humor.

The trades are beautiful. I've given away all of my old Joe comics because of them. The colors are so much better, the paper is high quality. The experience is just so much better.

I have the old TBPs from 1-50. My comics start at #51. I didn't pick up the newer TBPs out of incompetence.

I'm still waiting for them to get to the last few issues.
After the mid 140's, they get pricey

There seems to be some shortage of several issues though cause the prices are much higher than the cover price. |

And COBRA Commander gets meaner and more maniacal with every issue. I really think he went insane due to oxygen-deprivation to his brain or some such after Fred shot him in 1987. The guy who comes back is much more cashew-flavoured.

The late 140's is not horrible on the price. It is 150+ you are take $30+ per issue.

If you want the individual issues, waiting for an ebay score is probably the way to go. You could be like me and luck into a lot of like 50 issues cheap and to my surprise they were all signed, must have been my lucky day.
