so i heard threw a friend that walmart is going to raise everything in their store 20%, i dont no how accurate this is, and it could be complete bullsh!t but i heard it and thaught i would see if anyone else has heard about it.
i guess gas prices are suppose to climb to 5.00 a gallon by july 4th and because of the gas prices being so high, business's are losing money at stores because no one has money to buy anything. "supposably" anyway if walmart really does raise everything 20% i wonder if joes will jump in price again. first they were 4.88 now they are 6.84, if they hit 8+ i will be pissed but will still buy. people are saying its kinda like the great depression back in the 20's with how screwed up are economy is. the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, it seems like there's really no middle class anymore. anyway's hope the rumor isnt tru. |

I would buy what i have on pre-order.. and then thats it mebbe 1 or 2 select figs per wave... but i wouldn't buy shit after that |

I call B.S. a 20 % increase seems far too extreme, especially across the board, for all of their products. No one would go to Wal-Mart at all, if they are citing not enough people driving to the store because of high Gas Prices for the reason of the increase.

it wouldnt surprise me in the least and we all know that if crack mart raises their prices EVERYONE will follow suit, both regular and online retailers. Already prices are outta control and this is only gonna get worse as the year goes on. Gas is already almost 5 frackin bucks now so once it goes over that in a few weeks NO ONE will be buying anything. Chirst this is maddening. Already i don;'t buy anything and now this just reaffirms it. I too hope its just BS but most likely it isnt. PRepare yourselves for the great depression of 2008-9 and beyond .

It may be hokey, but then again with the way things are going, it may be true, I dunno.. 20% seems a bit drastic...
If joes get a little higher, I will have to stop my collecting, sad, but oh well..I will still have my vintage joes and I prefer them anyway... I'll probably wind up selling my 25th's if that happens too.. I hate having only "half" a collection... I say let's wait and see it that's true or not... Saboteur |

I also agree that 20% is too high for a across the board increase. Maybe a few items will be as high as 20% but not everything in the store. Walmart prides itself too much on low prices. If Walmart did that then the economy would definitely feel the pinch. Some freakin politician or economist would try and paint sunshine on your ass by saying its only 20 cents on the dollar, that's nothing. Sorry but if the oil/gas crisis doesn't settle, then not only will Joe figs be $10 each but a roll of toilet paper will be $5. Sorry won't buy non essentials at that point. I may even stop wiping my butt when it happens too. It's easy for some millionaire at the top of a corporation to down play things, but I'd love for one of these guys to trade places with me and see if he can make ends meet on a middle class income, two cars, two kids, two dogs and a cat, etc etc......

I usually buy his food at Wal-mart because of the low pricing, but if it goes up 20%, they are going to HAVE to let me claim him as a dependent, lol! Saboteur |

no kidding. I swear my cat eats that much in both soft AND hard food. Everything keeps going up and up and up. I've sold most of my joe collection and the only thing i have is a couple of customs that i havent been able to sell or trade off yet and couple in the works. Imma post a pic soon of all my custom stuff so if anyone is interested lemme know. Lets pray shit goes down but expect it not to. :<
