It's definitely about balance. I really enjoy this stuff, but I also have more than one job, and spend a good amount of time with friends, going out, etc. Family should always come first, but don't be too hard on yourself either. GI Joe as a hobby obviously brings some joy to your life--I know it does for me. If you're needing more escapism with your Joes, it might mean that things in your personal life are harder and more demanding than you may have realized. Best wishes for working this out with your family.

Got to tell you that I love collecting figures. Seeing new figures sometimes brings my spirits up. For the past few months though it has been about trying to find peace with my new job and home. I got fired from a job that housed what felt like a family. The associates and customers felt like family to me. When I was fired, my first thought was I was never going to be apart of the same crew again. Sure I might meet characters like them in the future, but I will miss the originals. Wal-Mart took my family away from me (that is what i felt).
Pizza Hut Delivering driving is fun, but I need something better, I know this much. Do whatever is most important to you. Collecting is fun and enjoyable. Family is forever and responsibility. Now I am not saying that the latter cannot be the same as toy collecting. Make your choice and live with it, otherwise life will just leave you behind in the dust. |
