So this is a post for all those that are happy with Hasbro. I just have hit my limit of all these postings with members of the Hiss Tank declaring they are done with Hasbro, if they change anything the line will die, selling my collection, etc...
I would like all of those to think back to Sgt Savage, Spy Troops, etc. Now Im not trashing those lines, Im just saying, for example, if I have to choose between a classic destro or a destro that has a skull face, Im glald I got my classic destro. With a line that lasted well over a decade, not all of everyone's favorite figure might get made. But keep in mind, 25 years have passed, times change, with changes comes both the good and bad. I for one am glad that a line that was to be only 15 or so figures, has already surpassed 100 ++, not to mention what is coming next. Who would have thought back in 1985 we would ever have a MASS device, radioactive Snake Eyes, updated vehicles.!.!.! Yes there will be repaints, some figures wont be perfect and might have a skull on a belt or knee pads that dont get painted in final production. But for a few cut corners, it will pay off...cough cough BAT cough cough. And of course Hasbro will continue to throw version after version of Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow at us. As long as we get great figures for some of the core classics, I for one will continue to be a true Cobra supporter. Nothing is perfect in this world. But at least now we have some great classics from our childhood to add to our collections. This post is not meant to start drama, just to be the balance to the rapidly growing negativity I have seen in recent threads. Just think, with continued success, who knows what this could be. With things like the $150 ATTE and BIG Falcon in Hasbro's SW line, a $150 TerrorDrome or FLAGG might not be that far fetched. Here is a Thank You to Hasbro for bringing such classic childhood favorites back and keep them coming!!!

Very well put. It's simple boys...If you don't like the way they are made..Don't buy em! Don't ebay em! Don't trash em! Leave em be. Right on the shelves where true fan can have a chance to buy them. Us old guys can complain all day, but to the new generation of kids, these things are the coolest toys. That's what 3 3/4 Joes are all about! So deal with it! The old toys had flaws as well...Or are you too old to remember? Let's see... Several repaints, snapped O rings, loose joints and less articulation/detail. Those are to name a few.

Awesome post BHiga6181! I, for one, agree and am extremely happy with what we've gotten so far. There might be small details on some figures that I haven't liked, but as a customizer I can fix them myself. Great job Hasbro, I know it's not easy to please everyone. I look forward to anything that gets released, I'll use it all.

Been great so far. Even figures like Python Patrol officer (which I basically hated) work out well. And don't forget, we're really not even a full year into this line and think of how many figures are out there. You can't get that quantity and not cut a few corners. And honestly I have really noticed much in the way of corners being cut. On many figures, if I hadn't been told, I wouldn't have noticed which body was being used for someone else. Pull the Joes from under the microscope and try to enjoy it while it lasts.

I for one love these new figures. Any complaints I have, I take into my own hands and customize. |

My brain just exploded. Optimism, on the internets? NEVER!
Seriously though, thank you for this. I was beginning to wonder if anyone else thought from this angle, and I am glad that some people do.

No matter how pissed I am with shoddy plastic or bad paintjobs, I can't ignore my desire to have my favorite (& new) characters in physical, collectible, playable form.
I said I'd boycott Hasbro after they cancelled (sorry, "hiatused") Sigma 6. Then, I started to read the original Marvel comics. Thanks to Bill & daremo, I'm getting pretty caught up on the 25th. ~_~" As long as @$$bro keeps making G.I. Joe & Transformers & (as sh***y as most of them are) Marvel Legends, I'll more than likely keep buying them. I plan to run my own toy company one day soon (a'la McFarlane), and I'll handle the QC problems (like McF has...lol) when I'm in charge, and not a whiny consumer fanboy. No, we shouldn't have to modify figures right out of the package. But, if you're really that upset, stop buying them. I appreciate negative feedback before I decide to spend my money on something, but there's constructive, and destructive, and one of those I'll listen to. The other I pass over. I'm the biggest complainer in the world, but even I know when it's too much, and the apathy towards me it can cause. You want people to listen to you? Watch the b*tch*ng. You know, at the end of the day, they're just toys. Little pieces of plastic, rubber and metal screws that won't necessarily make the world a better or worse place.
I will say that I think it's totally cool that Hasbro has come out with these 25th figs. It has taken me back to happy times in my childhood that I forget sometimes, what with the daily grind. These figures are so well articulated and come loaded with so many cool features. These are the figures I dreamed of when GI Joe first came out during my early elementary school years. So, if nothing else, thanks Hasbro for helping a guy reconnect with his inner child and taking him through his 2nd (or was it 3rd or 4th?) childhood. |

Having cut my teeth on 12"ers as a kid, long before the "mini-Joe" scene, i must say i'm glad to be new to the hobby. I walked past a display of 25th's awhile back & i was hooked.
I've never seen an episode of the show & i was still drawn to plunk a fitty down on a few & have since been hooked researching all the old school fig's & vehic's, as well as recently acquiring a Mobat & Bridgelayer & a few other items. Having a quarter century lineage of a line to pick, choose, & collect is awesome i.m.o. as i'm sure the product will be just as good in the future as it has been in the past. |
