The Visor looks a lot more.. Ninja-esque, but the goggles seem too commando like. Snake-Eyes (for me, at least) is a ninja before a commando. Besides, it just looks bad-ass!

Goggles make me tingly in places I didn't know could be tingly. My WoW character had them (engineers 4tw), and uh... I just like goggles. Yeah. 1991 version for updating in 25th anniversary style plz.

This looks like the proper thread to vent my feelings on Snake Eyes masks. To start I'll answer the question. Although I like both, the visor wins it for me. But it's not just a question of visor goggles. There are other just as significant aspects to both masks that make them special.
The great lip debate... I HATE lips on Snake Eyes visor masks. I know the original V2 Snake Eyes figure had lips, but his card art did not. And that was what first attracted me to him. He also did NOT have lips in the cartoon or the Marvel run comic versions of that outfit. I think it's something that was added to the figure to give it more character. Instead it took away mystique and made him look kinda dorky. I always imagined it was a traditional ninja mask with the visor added. You can't see Storm Shadow's lips through his ninja mask! I've spent numerous hours customizing Snake Eyes figures to remove the lips. In fact if anybody wants it done to some of there Snake Eyes figures for free, just shoot me a PM. The visor apex... Hasbro gave us an improved visor Snake Eyes head in the 25th Anniversary line with the Pyramid of Darkness DVD pack/2009 5 Pack version, but it still looked off. Why? Because it was round at the front of the visor. To capture that unique look of the 1985 version, the front of the visor needed to apex. I also prefer the look of the little breathing vent at the base of the visor, but it's not necessary. As for the goggled version... An apex issue again? This mask also had a certain mystique when done right. Unfortunately the 25th Anniversary version missed it. Part of the problem was the oversized goggles of the 25th version. They were the focus on the head sculpt. However the original 1982 Snake Eyes head sculpt focused on the apex of the mask at the breathing vents. A very cool look! Thankfully Hasbro nailed it with the Resolute/City Strike head sculpt. It had smaller goggles and a nice little apex line from the nose to chin in between the breathing vents. It definitely captures that classic Snake Eyes mystique! The Valor Vs Venom Mask... This was another figure where Hasbro did not match the figure to card art. I thought this figure's mask artwork looked really cool too. So I made a custom version.
