Um, what's the mystery? The G.I. Joe SHARC, in comics in cartoons, is both a flying and a submersible vehicle. No such vehicle exists in real life. Nor do jet packs, laser rifles, or robot soldiers. G.I. Joe always incorporated sci-fi elements.

I didn't say lasers weren't real, I said "laser rifles" weren't, since I knew directed energy weapons were in development, but in 1982, they didn't. And while the military uses robots, there aren't BATS.

Note that there is a difference between "rocket pack" or "rocket belt," which is what you've posted, and "jet pack," which would incinerate Grand Slam's legs when in use.

The current laser weapon in development, according to that article, weighs 450 lbs and is not a "rifle," and it certainly didn't exist in 1982, and the article itself is very cautious about that future. I also said "robot soldier," which you may still note is different from military-use robots. There is a difference between "soldier" and "tool." I do not know why I am arguing with someone with your demonstrated level of reading comprehension.

Was the SHARC a flying vehicle in the comics too? I seem to remember seeing it in the Zartan! storyline but its flying-ness could iirc just be a jump out of the water due to high speed rather than an aerodynamic event.

I say we rent a fishing boat, some dive gear, slap some Cobra decals on them. Make like a team of Eels and hijack that mutha f*kka, film it, Thunderball style! Let the video go viral. That would be some seriously epic sh*t.
