I overheard some kid excitedly asking his brothers which wave 7 joes he should pick up, he seemed intent on buying Snake Eyes, then again who wouldn't, that version is the best in the line by far. A year ago I also noticed a kid wanting to buy a battle pack because it was a good price for 5 figures, and he liked joes.
I don't see kids that often buying them(when I look for joes I tend to be the only one in the aisle looking for them sometimes), but the ones that do look at them do want them. |

Good to read that the youngin's dig this stuff. We need 'em to keep the line alive.

I wish there were more children who were interested around here, because then maybe the local Wal-Mart would get rid of some of the figures on the pegs... it just seems logical that that would be the case? I am not sure, however. I would pretty much relinquish any figure I had, if a child wanted it, because its not like its the ONLY one I'll ever find, you know?

I never see kids looking at the joes. Just older dudes like myself.
It's odd. When I was a kid, I loved GI Joes and I'd make my parents buy them for me all the time. Now, kids here apparently don't care, which is kind of awesome. Less competition. |

I finally saw a kid looking at Joes.
I had been to Wal-Mart earlier in the day and found a TF Flint and Arctic SE -- oddly, most of the w8 cards were beat to hell and back -- and had to go back later in the day for gardening supplies. Decided to check again for Blud, and there was a 10-12yr old kid looking through the Joes. He grabbed Spirit and FLyboy Duke, and when his mom and dad walked up to us talking he asked for the Spirit. She looked at me and I said, "Do it, it's cool." He tried to sneak the Duke into the cart too (a patented move of mine in my youth) and got busted. I was thinking "At least one kid likes this line," when his dad informed me that they had picked up all w8 in FL earlier in the day, and asked if I had seen the Transformers Animated line cos he (Dad) wanted more of them. Then I had an odd feeling of "cool dad/ I want to pound this guy." Don't know why. Perhaps it was the flaming mullet he was sporting. |

You know...I have yet to see one kid actual pause and look at the Joes.
They get excited about Transformers and Power Rangers but no Joes.

Not to long ago I saw a kid looking through the Joes at Wal Mart. He was holding an IG Destro, I think. I just backed off. I know if I was a little kid and a 6' 3" 255lb guy started looking through the same toys I was looking at I would get a little nervous and go find my mom or dad. I can look whenever I want so I let this kid look in peace.

I've seen 2 different kids on 2 different occasions at 2 different stores looking at Joes... the 1st boy was like "Cool GI Joe!!" and just wanted anyone & everyone, the 2nd was a little boy begging his mom for the Hawk/Scarlett comic pack.
"Right on kids, right on..." ^_^ |
