I know GI JOE used many Joes from real life sepcial forces units of the U.S. military: such as Wet Suit (NAVY SEAL), Beachhead (Army Ranger), LT. Falcon (Green Berets), Tunnel Rat (EOD specialist).
But I don't see all of the services' special units. As a former member of the USAF and training at the special tactics sqaudron, I would like to see the special tactics community recognized. May be a line of USAF JOEs like a Pararescueman (PJ), a Combat Controller (CCT), a Tactical Air Control Party specialist (TACP ROMAD) or even the little known Special Operations Weatherman (SOWT). I know that Gung Ho is a Marine, but how about adding a Recon Marine JOE? There are tons of different JOEs with many different roles yet somehow the whole community isn't recognized. |

Technically Leatherneck and Gung-Ho are Force Recon.
A Scout Sniper from the Marines would be cool. I would love to see a PJ, Combat Controller or Combat Weatherman. Bombstrike was a Combat Controller I believe. Joe could use a Phoenix Raven. From the Navy can't forget the SWCCs, Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen. I've made Shipwreck a SWCC and made custom PJs (Medivac), Combat Controller (Airstrike) and Weatherman (Windspeed).

Changed this one: because, I didn't think his original card made sense.

???
-EOD is an MOS and for USAF it is an AFSC just like EVERY special tactics MOS. -FYI, USAF has 'special tactics' and the Army has 'special forces' (Green Berets, Rangers, JTACs, etc). Marines alone are badass and a stand-alone special force, plus their Force Recon. -And great jobs with the JOE customs guys. I kinda want to finsh my customs now. Cool info, too. |

Leatherneck and Gung-Ho are both Force Recon Sgt. Stone is a Marine with Special Forces training... probably MARSOC Hollow Point (BTR) is a Scout/Sniper USAF Spec Ops... Barrel Roll. Though it's unclear if he's supposed to be a PJ or CCT or what. How would a Sniper be used in the USAF Special Ops? I know Bombstrike is a maybe, but she's a girl. No girls in SOCOM in real life. What is a Pheonix Raven? Oh, and Wilhelm... welcome to the forum. You might enjoy the Filecard thread. It's the best place on the forum to discuss all the Joes' qualifications. It's 99% drama free, and everybody is really nice. It's the smartest thread on the forum.

Like the ones Troy mentioned and all the USAF Special Tactics guys they are long over due. I always wonder why one of the Sky Patrol guys wasn't an Air Combat Controller. (I'm looking at you Airwave.)
Personally I took the TRU 3 pack Lt Stone (Red Beret) and renamed him Airstrike. Another good candidate would be Barrel-Roll. There is some debate as his filecard reads E-4 Sniper, but he was referred to as Lt Stall in the Comics? As an enlisted man and an Air Force Sniper Leads me to think Air Force Security. However mine is an Officer but that's just food for thought. More food for thought. You know who else was an Air-Force Security at one time? Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris doesn't have hair on his balls because hair doesn't grow on steel.

Here's a thought - various versions of Beach Head had a rolled up red beret on his shoulder. Maybe he took the Combat Controller course.

I always assumed that beach's red baret was a ranger thing... guess I should check that. ok, so beachhead's beret is Maroon, it's for airborne units. Rangers wear black berets.
