Sunbow, didn't really have access to the comics except every once in a while when we went to a larger town to buy groceries. I did get comics whenever I saw them and I did love them but the cartoon was it for me. Yoooooooooooooo Joe!

Incomplete poll is incomplete.
Where are the choices for, "The Filecards", which predate everything else, or my personal choice, "This is a too-nerdy argument even for me and I don't really give a crap"? BTW, I'm not even sure the term can be effectively applied to G.I.Joe, since all creative works are just off-shoots of the toys. See below for a discussion of canon. [QUOTE=Colder Soldier;2385276] Secondly, BOTH cartoon and comic were corny. QUOTE]
While I admit Serpentor, Zartan, and Cobra Island were "corny" the early comics were not always corny ex: the Scarface/toxin story line or the return to Sierra Gordo to rescue Dr Burke or Baroness's attempt to assasinate CC. You can not compare the corniness of the cartoon to the comic. Thank goodness Hama drew the line at Cobra-La. |

I would certainly have to go with the Marvel comic as I really enjoyed reading it and the file cards. The cartoon has always been to corny for me, though I like it better now because I understand it better. I really didn't like the idea of clowning around in the military as a child. I was raised with a respect for the armed forces. I never cared for M.A.S.H. either but understand it a lot better now.

I always preferred the cartoon. I like the comic and all well enough, but to me, it will never be my main basis because I don't see a ninja taking over a military comic as acceptable. It's a team book... not the Snake Eyes show - it's the same reason I can't stand Wolverine.
