Darth Vader from Power of The Force till I finally got a CC figure. I used to set the screw in the back of the joes to its loosest setting so when Vader hit them with his saber they exploded.

Storm Shadow always was the leader of my "Cobra". I say that loosely cause the group he led was always a ninja clan and not really cobra. My favorite cobra at the time always led them which was usually some viper or something that looked cool. They never were as big as the comics made them out to be just a terrorist group or dictator/military force that was around. The joes were pretty much the same as they were in the book. Never had a duke so hawk did all the leading.

Funny, Capt. Grid Iron has always ranked high in my collection as well.
From about '89-93 my Joes weren't Joes anyway. My playtime was dedicated to a very "Fist of the Northstarish" post apoc storyline I fleshed out with all my non-turtle toys. Roadpig was the main protagonist (Kenshiro). Othet notable leaders in my current Joeverse- Zanzibar, Crystal Ball, Overlord, Darklon, and the leader of the Dreadnoks: Mystique (well she is Zartan's mother after all).

When Cobra invaded the living room, and took command of the coffee table, Gung-Ho lead all the attack missions.

For a time Wild Weasel was the leader of my Cobras. Until I finally got Serpentor. I didn't get a Cobra Commander until much later in a trade. I think I had the armored version first and he was the leader for awhile.
On the Joe Team Clutch & Snake Eyes were the leader until I got the second Hawk version then he took over everything.
