Tokyo.

Midnight.

I've been in between worlds for hours. Listining intently to conversations through the vents, slowing my metabolism down and drifting into meditation. An air duct can be an unpleasant place to remain still for the most part of the evening. This however is where I excel.

I was trained to know that time is irrelevant to my body. I am one with the darkness, and yet, timing in the darkness is everything.

My mission is fairly simple by my clan's standards. Single out the usurper and kill him. I was given specific instructions for this task. Greet him with Hail Cobra, inflict suffering prior to death, have him beg for his life and lastly kill him alone.

Still in the duct 9 ft above the floor I hear the mingling and music of the party. A banquet for the vile. Every high roller is present from Yakuza bosses to Shadaloo operatives. Gambling, men and women in formal evening attire. Laughter and the band playing it's version of contemporary Japanese classical linger in the air. My hearing cuts through this, cuts through the sounds of roulette tables, the sounds of people at the bar yelling and slamming money down over the Sumo on television...all of this goes quiet at my command.

I hear his voice as he makes his entrance into the room I'm above and is greeted by 2 Asian women. I've heard his recorded voice and meditated on it for months. It's him.

Through the small bars of the vent I see him. American in formal evening wear decorated with military medals. A Crimson Guardsman's uniform for such an event.

He drinks and mingles and eventually he'll use the bathroom.

After a few minutes of handshaking I see him put down his empty glass which is promptly picked up by a passing bar hand. He takes a cigar from the cigarette girl and when approached by 2 women he smiles and says "Excuse me one moment."

He is headed to the mens room and I make my way overhead through the ducts.

I'm there 30 seconds before he is. I unzip my jumpsuit, remove the vent and hop down onto the toilet seat. My timing is as perfect as is my luck, there is no one else here.

The door swings open and he walks passed the stahl to the far end of the bathroom towards the urinal. I leave the stahl silently and place a small silver disc on the door. Half of it on the inside of the door the other half on the molding. The disc is a locking device.

Light air conditioning and classical music seem to pour from the ceiling. The granite counter tops and liquid black flooring will prove to be a gallows of sorts. The large mirror our only witness.
I stand motionless in front of the sinks waiting for him to turn around, and he does.

"Hi, how are you."

As he washes his hands. I remain quiet.

"Ha, ok. Not enjoying the party I take it? Lose a big hand at the craps table?"

"Hail Cobra!"

His face went pale as he backed away from the sink and the water turned itself off. There was a blank expression on his face that stared back from the mirror.

"You don't have any idea what you're getting yourself into young man."

"You have conspired against Cobra. The charge for treason against the Commander is death."

He spoke back furiously.

"Cobra is dead! Thanks to your fearless leader pissing away money and acting like a God damned rock star! You fuck...you fucking fool! I was the back bone of this thing before you were born! My men and I bled and died for an idea that is now just pure delusion! How dare you charge me with anything!!"

His nostrils flared as his face contorted, he reached to the inside of his coat for a pistol and the moment I saw the black tactical grip of a revolver I threw 3 shuriken into his forearm.

They made a slight whirring sound in the air and went through the fabric into his flesh from wrist to elbow.

"Arrrggghh!!"

The pistol dropped and the stars laced with toxins began to kick in. His arm was completely rigid and paralyzed. He began to sweat and turn pure white. Now he slumped down the wall onto the floor.

"It's over for you. Ha, ha..the damage is done. Everyone knows the vulnerable...spots now"

He spoke with great pain and paused after a few words. I stood over him and followed the Commander's instructions.

"O-ok..look..just..help me and..it's ok, we..we can just...please God don't kill me!"

Again I waited calmly and from down my forearm a small dagger made it's way into my hand.

"G-good. Fuck you, kill me. Y-you f-f-ucking half breed round eye fuck! Hehehe..y-you c-couldn't join a r-real clan so you came to wh-where all the fuck ups congregate..C-cobra.

He was spitting while he spoke and furious. The words were contorted, and getting harder and harder to decipher but his was correct. I am a "half breed". I could never be accepted by the clan of my own blood. This angers me and I will enjoy this.

He sweats and shakes as the toxins run through his body. I breathe in and with 1 motion...."Ki-yah!" I slice his neck deeply and watch his blood pour onto his white shirt now crimson soaked.

I will remove the disc and escape to the party. Mixing in unnoticed.

By the time someone see's the body and screams I will be enroute to Cobra Commander to inform him of this evening's happenings and victory.

This was my 1st kill in the name of Cobra. I await praise for my duty.

Cobra's newest unit is my clan and to whom I swear undying allegiance.

I am a Ninja-Viper.
