So I think pretty much everyone here knows that I'm more or less obsessed with Cobra Commander. I can't help it. It's jus ta thing. The Commander speaks (well, screeches) to me in a way that few characters in fiction have managed.

The guy's got like....a billion origins at this point. He's a title passed down from one commander to another, a member of a prehistoric race of.....folks, Duke's best bud and Baroness's little bro, and, of course, a used car salesman. But, I really wanted to try and develop things a little more. Larry Hama?s comics hinted at who the man was before slapping on a blue hood, and the cartoons danced around it. I wanted to really explore it.

This series isn?t about blue hoods, laser guns, or world domination (yet). This is about a man named Chris Lattimer?working-class, ambitious, frustrated?who gets tangled up in crime, revenge, and a slow, inevitable transformation. If you like Breaking Bad, The Godfather, or just watching a guy get in way over his head, you?re in the right place.

I wanted to take the bits and pieces of Cobra Commander?s origin - primarily from Hama - and weave it into something that feels raw, grounded, and maybe even a little tragic. Because before he was leading COBRA, before the mask and the speeches, he "wasssss a man." And men like that don?t just wake up villains. They become them.
