Hey Everybody!
I'm here today to share a photo comic series that I have been making. I had been out of actively collecting vintage G.I. Joes for a number of years, and had sold off a huge portion of my collection in that time. I didn't think much of it as my toy collecting had turned towards other toy lines, but that's where fate stepped in. Through a bunch of posts from a friend over on Instagram (go check out @ToysAndTomFoolery if you want to laugh AND see pictures of toys doing crazy things) I had suddenly gotten this sickening feeling that I had made huge mistake. I went to go look at what G.I. Joe items I had left, and found my collection was a fraction of it's former self. In addition to being a toy collector, I am also an author of a pen and paper Role-Playing Game called "The Secret World of Toyeboxia" where toys are brought to life and go on adventures here on Earth and on the secret world they created for themselves. Then I had an idea strike me: "What if I wrote a photo comic starring the fractured remains of my G.I. Joe collection struggling to survive attack after attack from Cobra?". I loved the idea and since April of 2021 and just a few days ago, I have shot and written thirty five individual 10-panel episodes taking place in this world. Now, since they are living toys this means there are tons of other living toys populating this world. Throughout the series you will see C.O.P.S., Inhumanoids, Visionaries, Transformers and even a cameo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figure: Scratch. I love writing and creating this little photo comic series and I decided today to show it to people here on the HissTank.com message boards to see if other people will like it too. I started posting it over on Instagram (@bahglenncreations) but within the past month created a specif blog for it over on blogspot to make it easier for people to stay up to date and read the comics without having to use Instagram. I attached the first 6-panel Prelude episode to this thread to give you guys an idea for what the series is like, but be sure to head on over to G.I. Joe: 3.75 Division to check the full series out. I have deleted scenes, "director's commentary", etc. there so be sure to leave a comment over there and let me know what you think! -Collector-Viper Last edited by Collector-Viper; 03-04-2023 at 03:04 PM.. |
