My first Snake Eyes was v1 but my cousin gave him to me and he only had one arm. My favorite Cobra is Firefly. He was a ninja in my mind but cooler because he blew things up also. I loved Footloose as a figure. He was my favorite joe but didn't like how he was in the toon

I think Joe had a nice balance of showcasing characters and still leaving a few up to the imagination. I'd kill for a "lost season" of the 1988 Sunbow cartoon, though. Just to see how a bunch of those characters would be portrayed. |

8 year old me was Snake Eyes all day, 85 and 89 both, followed very closely by 86 Roadblock and 85 Flint, but as an adult, Tunnel Rat takes it. In short, I never could make up my damned mind on a favorite, there were too many great GIJoe figures. |

Hey I made a thread about what we're talking about. I was thinking we've derailed this guy's thread good enough. LOL!

"Mixing lines" was hit-or-miss with me. When I only had two of three GI Joe figures in 1982, I had no choice but to mix them in with my gaggle of Star Wars figures & vehicles. Plus, the Cobra figures didn't come until a few months later, so my little Joe team always fought Stormtroopers and old Micronauts figures.
When I started getting more GI Joe and Cobra figures, I used the Star Wars "mini-rigs" as their main vehicles, since those didn't have the lingering shadow of "official" Star Wars vehicles. Seemed weird having Joes piloting the Millennium Falcon, but no problems with them driving the Mini-rig snow-tank. When Cobra needed a vehicle, I used the old "Imperial Troop Transport" and the AT-ST until I got the HISS in the fall of 1983. After that, I had enough distinctive stuff in each line, that I only mixed lines when I did an "official cross-over". Usually some gimmick involving a dimensional transporter. But in 1982-1983, I did all sorts of wild stuff, with He-Man, GI Joe, Star Wars, Lego and even Smurfs. It did seem weird having He-Man fight go up against a vehicle that was roughly the same size as him. So I don't think he crossed over, much. I packed up He-Man in the fall of 1984 and Star Wars sometime in early 1985. GI Joe was my main thing, from that point on. A few years later, I broke out the Y-wing and the Imperial Shuttle, since they were cool vehicles that I didn't use much (think I got them for Xmas in 1984, and they didn't have a long toy-shelf life). They looked weird sitting next to my "real" GI Joe stuff.

Oh, and to this SHOCKER thing--- reminds me of the rocky UK "Action Force" stories, where they transition the Red Shadows into Cobra. Very odd stuff.
Also surprised that nobody's posted a picture of Horace Pinker or the Luchador named "Shocker". They're coming.
