A short GI JOE ROC fic.
Escape The cell was far from comfortable, but the Baroness found a way to make it somewhat pleasant. With her legs outstretched against the metal plating of the walls, she kept her feet pressed to it for as long as she could take well reading a lousy book she had taken off the cart that came around. Nothing in this cage was to her tastes, being used to rich fabrics and the most expensive furniture money could buy. Growing tired of playing her little game with Duke, the queen of the newly formed Cobra longed for James McCullen. She missed his kiss, his fingers mixing in with her dark hair. Redemption was tough, and the Baroness had no wish for it. Terrorism was her thing; she had loved it the minute her “brother” had brought her into it. Like the Commander really was her brother. The brother she knew died years ago after being shot. “Rex” was a set up made by the Commander to trick Duke into falling for the trick that allowed the Baroness to gather hundreds of military secrets shared from her “lover”. Though sometimes her life felt fake. She had played so many identities it was sometimes hard to remember who she actually was. She had spent many nights reconsidering the path she was about to take, escape was right in front of her being offered to her on a platter, but the path she was ordered to take looked far more exciting. Perhaps she would grow tired of Cobra, but this was just the beginning. Placing the book she was reading down, she took her frozen feet off the wall and paced the length of the cell to bring back the feeling in her legs. Stretching, she tried her best to balance from the crashing waves that pushed the ship around. The Baroness was sick of water; she wanted to be free of this cursed floating death trap. She didn’t trust the crew or the GI JOE team. They could be planning her execution right at this moment. That’s why she decided to make her move today. She hated waiting. Looking out the bars of the cell, she watched the guard half asleep lean against the outside metal wall. The Baroness couldn’t help but roll her eyes; the help on this ship was a laugh. After reaching between the bars as far as her arm could fit, she felt around for the ring on the guards’ belt with the keys. After successfully finding them, she unlocked her cell and took the gun from the man. “Wake up!” The Baroness barked, keeping her gun aimed at the guards head. Startled, the guard stumbled to his feet and gasped against the wall. The Baroness figured him to not even be past his twenties. After looking back to see the open cell bars, the guard felt for his gun but quickly looked up to where the Baroness smirked. “Now move!” She pointed to the ongoing hallway towards the Commander and Destro’s cell. The guard stood still, and the Baroness glared. “Move! Hands on your head!” The guard obeyed and walked in front of her as she kept her gun trained on his back. “You’re my ticket out of here,” The guard shook his head. “You won’t get away with this,” “Silly boy, I already have,” The Baroness paused for a second to make sure no guards were coming and shot out the camera in front of them. She quickly swore under her breathe, that obviously caught some attention. Walking in front of the guard, then took the hand cuffs that he had been hiding for the right moment to recapture her and put them around her wrists, but not locked. “Now make this believable, I still have your gun,” The guard nodded weakly and continued to walk behind her. The footsteps of more guards echoed in front of them, as the guard quickly ran forward and wrapped his arms around the Baroness’s neck. “She’s trying to escape!” “Fool.” The Baroness launched her elbow and hit the guard in the ribs as he collapsed. Quickly aiming the small handgun she shot the nearest guard followed by the other two, then dropped the gun when it was out of bullets. The guards began firing at her but she sprang upwards, avoiding the gunfire and came down on one of the guards quickly knocking him out. Quickly grabbing the other guard in a choke hold, she twisted his neck then dropped him to the floor. The next man was a bit of a challenge, but after a quick uppercut and round house kick to the face, the guards lay scattered around her. Stepping around them, the Baroness stood over the trembling guard and smiled a sly grin. “You made a terrible mistake,” “Please don’t kill me,” The guard stuttered, backing into a wall and holding his bruised side. Taking the gun off the other guard she pointed it at his head. “Too late,” Taking the AK-47 off the wall the Baroness slung it around her shoulder and wiped the blood off her hand. |
