Every Joe #381: Sparta
Sparta was originally an ARAH-era Brazilian figure. The GI Joe Collectors' Club used ROC parts in 2011 to bring her into the Joe lineup. While the GIJCC figure was pretty good, I can't say the same about this artwork. It's been in the can for FOUR YEARS now (yes, I have built up the back pile but have stuck to once a week postings) and looking back at it I only see a malnourished lady fighting her way to cheeseburgers. Plus she's missing the chunk of her upper body between her left shoulder and the side of her neck. Not good. I noticed that this morning, when I updated the entry number. But I couldn't easily fix it, so I'll just point it out instead. Everything looks worse 4 years later. That's art.

She's a cool figure and there's no shame/harm in posting the work as is. Shows your progress, if nothing else. I'll admit I was pretending that Gerard Butler was doing the narration/intro and waiting for him to say, "This...is...(you get the rest)."

Speaking of Mr. Gerard, he was in a submarine action movie, 2018's Hunter Killer, I recently watched. It happened to be on TBS or one of those networks. Not a bad movie. Like Executive Decision, it was closer to a GI Joe movie than any of the three "real" GI Joe movies.

I've never been shy about posting things I'm less than pleased with. Sometimes the effort itself in interesting. But overall, I think I've gotten better at this kind of art than when I started.

Thanks!
I'm impressed with how many figures/characters the GIJCC imported from outside sources. Their prices were nuts, but they did work more often then not.
