I've been trying to reconnect with the G.I. Joe community over the last few years. Undergrad, Graduate School, and life in general left little time for me to plug into the world of Joe and it seems like I missed a lot in the last decade and a half. When covid hit I started a project where I went through old toys I had boxed up in my basement and wrote down the memories that came to me (My Masters is in creative writing). I started getting an idea about learning a bit about stop motion and using the joe figures to propose to my girlfriend. It worked. By no means is the video professional but it got her to say "Yes" and we said "I do" on the 8th of this month. I decided to share the video, which got a copyright claim right away but it can stay up. I put a few nods to the Joe mythos in it, which is why I felt the need to share since most of my family and friends don't pick up on it. A lot of the message boards I used to frequent have disappeared but I noticed I still had an account here. I hope you enjoy it.

Wonderful video.
I say this with no sarcasm- I'd rather watch five minutes of your "special effects" than what's in The Rise of Skywalker. There's a charisma factor in watching the toys move around. How did you manage to keep the lighting from "flickering", like it normally does when people make stop motion stuff using digital cameras? |
