Since I’ve hit a lull in my custom work while I wait for some time and inspiration, figured now would be as good a time as any to start the other thread that I’ve been meaning to get started on for a while now.
Anyone who checks out my Customs thread knows that I take a ton of pictures of the figures I do in all kinds of action poses & scenes while also doing a little write up about how I got inspired to do them or just my appreciation for the original figure / character....but that thread leaves out all of the pictures of official Joe’s and other toy lines. So I’ll use this one to share random toy pictures that I’ve taken of the non-custom figures in my collection. Page 1: Dagobah Luke (6” Black Series) Page 1: Mandalorian (6” Black Series) Page 1: Sectaurs Dargon & General Spidrax (Zica Toys) Page 2: Supreme Snake Cobra Commander (6” Classified Series) Page 2: MOTU Mer-Man & Zodac (MOTU Retro collection) Page 2: MOTU Orko (MOTU vintage) Page 2: Larry Hama (Fresh Monkey) Page 2: Kayo (Eagle Force Returns) Page 2: Hornet (Eagle Force Returns) Page 3: Bombardier (GI Joe Club) Page 3: Bombardier (Black Major Customs)

We’ll start this thread off with one of my all time favorite characters, Luke Skywalker. Luke never popped up in my custom thread because I’ve never done a custom of him.....but I own a ton of Luke figures which means I take a ton of pictures recreating various scenes from the movies.
So this is one that I had in my pile for a month or so but just got around to opening it. It was definitely worth the wait! The POTF2 version of most Star Wars figures are my favorite versions because being a 90’s kid, that was the true start to my Star Wars collecting days but this 6” is a close second for this version of Luke. Just an all around awesome figure with great accessories and posing ability. 6” Black Series Dagobah Luke Training Session: Facing his fear: And just a fun one I couldn’t resist taking of Yoda and my life size version of Luke’s light: And a larger version of this picture because I love how the lightsaber effect comes out.

Great pictures....all I can think of is "Man just think of how great some pictures of the new Thundercats from Super7 with the Thundertank look".
It's something to think about.

Those are great looking figures and as always I enjoy your additional photo shots, especially the last one with the lightsaber strong effect! It looks so good.
I always thought that displaying figures is an inevitable and natural consequence of collective them in the first place and I feel like you've done such a great job showcasing your customs & non customs through photography so I cannot wait to seeing more of your other toy line collections in this new thread! |

It’s funny that you point that out because it’s the thing that really started bothering me with my collection. I was in a habit of wanting something, buying it, messing with it for a few minutes, getting it in a pose and then it would go on the shelf and not be bothered with again. I’d love staring at my figures through glass but I’d only get to actually have one in hand when I initially took it out of the package so I was just always hunting for new things to buy. But then when I started taking pictures it really sort of broke me out of that “always hunting” habit. Now half the time I think about buying something or making a custom, part of the thought process is what pictures I can take of it? Really helped me enjoy my collection a lot more than I had been and also it’s just more fun to actually get to mess with toys again. Glad you are looking forward to more updates in this thread because I have so many things that I want to take more pictures of! Haha. Speaking of which...

Keeping with the Star Wars theme, another recent figure that I just opened was the 6” Mandolorian in the Beskar armor. My Baby Yoda has been waiting for this guy to be shipped from my Pile of Loot for a long time and he was not a disappointment! Such an awesome figure of a great character and he looks amazing alongside the rest of my 6” figures.
Since the show is still running, I’ll keep my pictures and comments vague but anyone who hasn’t started watching it, I definitely recommend checking it out. Then you’ll most likely be buying this awesome 6” figure too! Star Wars 6” Black Series Mandalorian

Spending way too much time in Flint_Rocks awesome Best of 80’s Thread has me diving into more and more of the 80’s toy lines and cartoons that I missed out on initially. The Sectaurs was a line that I was somewhat familiar with, I remembered seeing the vintage toys over the years, got intrigued by the Zica line but never actually made the jump to check out the cartoon until recently......wow, not sure how this one didn’t catch on! Definitely one that just got lost in the shuffle of too much greatest at one time.
Since I checked out the start of the cartoon, liked the pictures Flint took of his figures, I decided to roll the dice on the main hero & villain from the Zica toy line. Good news, bad news. Good news is I LOVE THESE FIGURES! Bad news is now I want to get the rest of them! A little smaller than what we are used to now with the closer to 4” modern figures but great paint, feel awesome in hand, spectacular sculpting and some really cool accessories. So these were guys that I just could not wait to bust open and start snapping pictures of. Zica Sectaurs Toy line Dargon General Spidrax Beautiful card art as well: And I just couldn’t resist getting carried away with a battle:

Makes it even worse now now that the second kick starter didn't fund you already know how disappointed I am about that.

Wow.
All of the photos are great. The Sectaurs photos look like they came out of a mid-80's catalog. Fantastic stuff. |

Yeah, I’m feeling the loss of that second KS now too. Really want the four guys they were doing there, plus a few of the other characters from the cartoon now. The bad guys all look like they come with extra heads so I may build out their ranks with a few BF blanks even though the heads are slightly undersized on those bodies. Quote:
Makes me laugh even more now because while looking up the old toy line last night, they had a playset that looked like all of the Masters of the Universe playsets emerged together. So using my old Snake Mountain was a great idea for them. Definitely a toy line and show that should have caught on. Reading up on it, looks like the price and the fact that the good guys looked as terrifying as the bad guys are what did them in. Funny too picking up the voice actors that you recognize in the cartoon. Caught Destro and Optimus right away, then Bumblebee, Shipwreck and Slipstream’s voice actors are also in there.
