Awesome series of action scenes between Kayo and Hornet! I have to say Hornet and Ultima Thule are my favorites so far; judging from pictures for now as my pre-order may take a while to arrive.
Larry Hama visiting headquarters scene is so cool as well. The figure itself looks pretty solid! Always enjoy these posts, keep them coming man. |

Thanks! Had a ton of fun taking these ones, knew it was happening once I read about Hornet being an assassin.
Yeah, Hornet is an early favorite as I get them all out of the package but I’ve been staring a hole through Ultima Thule. Haha, dying to mess with him but i decided the main core of the team and Thule will be last so I have top guys to anticipate at the end. Haven’t paid attention to the preorder stuff but hope they get them out sooner than later for you. I’ve been really happy with them, some small things here & there but really cool for a new, non-Joe Lineup. Haha, loved doing those Larry pics, the hands on mine weren’t swapping easily so I just tried to think of stuff he could do with open palms. One of the guys who helped me visualize Joe HQ actually strolling through it was a must for me. Thanks again! Appreciate that. Art section never gets a ton of commenting so always cool that you take the time to pop in here and do so! Plenty of stuff around here so no shortage of pics to take and post. Haha.

Really enjoying the Eagle Force stuff. Wasn’t sure if I’d be into a bunch of new characters but the little bio’s they put on the cards and the cool looks to the figures once in hand really drew me in. Can’t wait to see what else they do with the Returns part of the line. Appreciate it!

Up next for the Appreciation thread is one that got a lot of flack when it was revealed / released but it’s one that I just immediately loved once in hand. I never knew about Bombardier until the Club’s reveal but 25th Flash and Grandslam were two of my favorite modern Joes for the longest time so I was happy to get another figure using the mold. The fact that he was a little different from those other two, had great accessories and was also a character that I didn’t have already added to his appeal.
Bombardier G.I. Joe Club Then one day on eBay while hunting for something to spend some Bonus Bucks on I found out that Black Major made a Bombardier.....easy decision to pick him up since I usually grab a Black Major figure for any of the older molds that I don’t have an official Joe of. Really happy with the purchase, helmet is a bit tough to get on due to his ears but other than that, love everything about this o-ring Bombardier. Bombardier Black Major Custom Then had to get my guy into the action.....but also still needed to open the Retro Collection FANG so this was the perfect opportunity!

Man those special effects with the Cobra F.A.N.G. going down and Bombardier saving (literally) the pilot for one last challenge on the ground is gold!
I agree the Club's version of this character is a hit as I'm really liking the proportions and color scheme. Love the side by side photo shoot with the vintage version as well. Keep the photography appreciation posts coming!! |

Thanks! Haha, I wasn’t planning to completely destroy the new Fang within ten minutes of breaking it out of the box but I LOVE that Bombardier figure so he was really gonna do a number on anyone / anything that crossed his path.
Totally agree on the build and colors for the Club version. Just always loved what they did for him. I mainly wanted 82-94 US guys from them but he was one I was legit excited for from the initial reveal. Then that o ring one is just super cool. Always enjoy the few Black Major figures I have when I get to mess with them. Thanks! Will do! Always enjoy getting to share and talk about some of the figures that have sort of been forgotten over the years. Was really looking forward to this Bombardier post so glad someone else thinks highly of him too because it really is a favorite of mine in the 25th collection.

You're doing great work with the photography, particularly how you've subtly blended the cardboard packaging/backdrops (I think that's what they are?) with the figures.
I didn't realize that the fence was part of the printing at first. It looks like the fence is an actually physical component. The over-the-shoulder shot looking down from the FANG towards Bombardier on the ground looks great. |

Yeah, they are the ToyHax cardboard backdrops, I have a bunch of them, love them for photos and backdrops in my detolfs. Have to get some of my accessories back out so I can have more foreground objects again, the backdrops do a great job giving the photos some depth though. Appreciate that, I always like doing the over the shoulder / first person style shots when I can fit them in. Probably from playing a ton of games back in the day. Haha. Thanks, I appreciate it!
