Rapid Fire was a neon mess Hasbro pushed out with a VHS of a DiC cartoon. Oh, he's not even that cartoon, or any cartoon. So that's the shameful first version.

The second version was much better. It was a Hall of Fame figure in urban camouflage. It didn't exist in the 3.75" format, but here's the ARAH design recolored in HoF colors.

Haha, even as a huge fan of the neon Joe’s, I HATED Rapid Fire until I saw Rob’s custom. Once I saw how cool he made him look with modern parts, then I made one and Ax made one......seeing those three awesome modern builds really made me come around and start enjoying the character a lot.

Haha, so even though you don’t enjoy his original look.....you killed it with this! Love the pose, all of the line work on the vest, gun, pouches, helmet straps, etc.....phenomenal! Really great job bringing even a Joe that you didn’t care for to life!

Then I didn’t even know about the 12” version! Looks so much like the Rollbar figure we got in the modern collection. Great job on the camo on this one and for bringing a hidden gem to my attention! Guess I need to pay more attention to the 12” stuff.

As always, love these and can’t wait to see what’s next!

I've also found a lot of fondness for figures, no matter how horrible they were when the came out. Part of the fun of collecting, I guess.

This drawing was originally done for Super Trooper, but I don't have enough reverence for Super Trooper or Rapid Fire to give them their own drawings. I flipped the image, so there's that... Super Trooper hasn't posted yet and I'm sure it wouldn't be a surprise!
