Hi Folks,
It’s been a while since my last post, so I figured I’d better make this one special. Since I’ve already reimagined a few characters from TRANSFORMERS, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS and the X-MEN, why not model someone from G.I. JOE? And who else but the team’s most iconic member-SNAKE EYES?! He's a modern take on the classic Sunbow design with a bit of comic book flare. I hope you like him!! The model is dedicated to the amazing LARRY HAMA, the character’s creator and to all Joe fans out there. Also, I'm very happy to say that Mr. Flint Dille, famed Writer/Producer of the Classic 80's animated series, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and current President of IDW Comics, loves the design; asking me to post a turnaround of the model on his page! Finally, I've submitted the model to Superfanart. My hope is that he can be made available as an official Hasbro product for those who may be interested. If you're curious to see a "Full 3D Turnaround of the design," please visit me at Tecrom Designs | Facebook Please feel free to comment, "LIKE" and share the page if you enjoy what you see. Also, if you like to own some of my other Officially Licensed Hasbro designs, you can find them at: Tecrom Designs by TecromDesigns on Shapeways Thank you very much!! Felix Manokoune/Tecrom Designs

I really love that. The v2 Snake Eyes always had a bit of a super-hero look, and this captures it perfectly. Just really great work. He could use an explosive background to help set him apart from it.

This is great. I've never been able to do figurative work. What file format do you work with? Would be cool to replace my generic hipster with some actual joe figures. arctic scorpion by LodeCreative, on Flickr

I appreciate the compliment! You do some beautiful work as well. Although I do hard edge modeling occasionally, I'm more comfortable with organics as I'm a traditionally trained sculptor. I have a background in sculpture/illustration/creative writing. I'm assuming yours is industrial design.I work with multiple file format. ztl, obj, etc., whatever gets the job done. Exactly, I started out in studio arts in undergrad then migrated towards industrial design in grad school. I haven't done a whole lot of consumer product design, but i work fulltime now in product development/special projects for Superior Recreational Products Normally I'm working in Sketchup or Solidworks. |
