thought this would make an interesting and somewhat more believable version of the sky hawk

That would be styrene overload... but it look sweet if you could structurally make it work.

Nice work. What program are you using?
The rotors wouldn't need to tilt though. The small jet behind the cockpit would provide the forward thrust. The rotating rotors wouldn't accomplish anything.

yeah, i was torn on leaving the small jets on the back. looked empty without. could simply be for attack runs, while rotors only for normal flight. Also thinking about extending the rear boom, seems too stubby.
Thinking about finding a smaller scale osprey and combining with a skyhawk. and remember.... manufacturers warning, do not carry riders on the ski runners. |

I did alot of work with Sketchup laying out various Joe bases. Just never got around to rendering or finishing. Never tried to do vehicles. My problem was that I'd just keep expanding and growing it and it would get out of control.
Sketchup is a great program.

it is a great program, and the 3d warehouse is a huge plus for parts and props. my problem is that the file sizes get unbearable if you don't manage every detail just right. I'm constantly having to copy and paste models from one window to another to keep the size down. it doesn't seem to really delete the info when you delete models or parts, so the file size stays the same or grows. very annoying and makes rendering difficult.

I don't understand why you say this. It would go faster and would use less fuel if the rotors were tilted forward...that's why the Osprey has tilt rotors.

True, but with a vehicle this size, would it really be that great a difference?
