Work in progress. Started building a version of the Pit 1 based off this comic drawing.
Alot of work left to do and alot of guess work, for instance, there's no mention of restrooms. Also no scale is mentioned, so I guessed it at around 150'x120' to allow for the larger vehicles depicted. It may also be that what is shown is not all of the structures but a cut-away, so if there's anything you think i should add into the pit, feel free to suggest. The garage shot is just a test to see what kind of lighting i want to use, currently with the number of lights in the shot, it takes about 4 hours to render. I will be detailing this much more than what is shown. I'm thinking about adding in car lifts, like this Purchase A Made In The USA Car Lift From SuperLifts.com - Car Lifts, Auto Lifts, Motorcycle Lifts and other Garage Accessories, to increase vehicle capacity, and possibly a track and trolley or conveyor system to allow for packing the vehicles in tighter. |

hmm, that's not ADA compliant, needs restrooms on all floors.
the one i'm working from only has 5 floors, do you have a link or anything to that version? especially if it's got this sort of drawing to show more detail. |

You need to set the 5 S Program in place. The PIT could be audited.
What is 5S? 5S Housekeeping - to organize the workplace Sort (Seiri) The 5S workplace organization process usually starts out by sorting the useful from the unnecessary. The only things that should remain in a work area are the parts, tools, & instructions needed to do the job. Straighten or Set in Order (Seiton) Everything has a place; everything is in its place. This is also a good time for your team to create a Visual Scoreboard, Jidoka lights, floor paint, kanbans, and other visual controls described in our our free Lean & Kaizen PowerPoint presentation. Sweep & Shine (Seiso) Do an initial spring cleaning. Maybe painting, scouring, sweeping, washing, rinsing, scrubbing, and whatever else is needed to make your work place shine. Standardize(Seiketsu) In the Standardize phase of Lean 5 S, routine cleaning becomes a way of life. Preventative maintenance is routinely performed, perhaps with planning and scheduling and some responsibilities done by your central maintenance department, and as much routine maintenance as possible performed by the people that know that work center better than anyone else. Sustain (Shitsuke) Shitsuke is when five S becomes a routine way of life. Root causes are routinely identified and dealt with. The Systems2win 5 S forms and the Standard Work Audit are very familiar to everyone - both supervisors and the workers that have come to appreciate the benefits of Five S and Lean methods. Safety (the 6th S) Some companies name their program 6S - to emphasize safety - but the truth is that safety is inseparably intertwined with every one of the traditional 5 categories. An uncluttered workplace is a safer workplace. A well maintained piece of equipment is a safer piece of equipment. A clean workplace is a safer workplace. The Deep Horizon oil spill would not have happened if the workers had followed their Standardized Work. |

Nice... I'm currently working on more of a "The Rock" version though, with 3 floors underground, 2 above, with a possibility of a 6th and 7th level depending on space.

This is what i've got in mind for parking, though i think i'm going to have to rearrange the elevator placement, they are just sort of stuck in there in such a way as to create alot of useless space.

I don't think the restrooms need to be ADA compliant unless Professor X is rolling in. I would definately add large generic mechanical rooms to each floor and some HVAC depending on how detailed you want to get. A structural grid and some bulky conc columns might add some realism to it too. The concrete maps look good.
