hmm, so there's no way to differentiate a payment that someone intends to chargeback from one that's legit? Damn, that's super-crappy.

That being said, another way to protect one's self is to ship to people who have confirmed paypal addresses. It's now alot easier for our friends "across the pond" to confirm their accounts as well  |

In the case of chargebacks though, confirmed addresses, delivery confirmation, etc are moot with Paypal since those only apply when Paypal has the wheel.
I checked out PayPal's FAQ on the topic, http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...k_risk-outside , and it looks rather grim with statements like Quote:
In a dispute over a chargeback, the decision is ultimately made by the credit card company and PayPal can’t control the outcome.
Quote:
All sellers who accept credit card payments run the risk of being liable for chargebacks. Chargebacks are among the unfortunate costs of doing business. Many sellers factor this cost into their business risk model.

I would recommned to all do not deal with this buyer:
bigfanofsports He leaves positive feedback but with negative remarks...which seems to be all the rage these days on ebay.

Do NOT deal with this joker Funstufforsale.
I bought a Despoiler off him. He charged me $6.00 for shipping. I get a notice yesterday for the item, says I owe .51¢ now. I go get it and pay for it. He put 1 oz. for the weight (paying only .81¢ for shipping). I check the USPS site and it says it would cost $1.31 to ship it with the correct weight of 4 oz.!!! So not only did he way over charge me on shipping, he didn't even use what I sent him for shipping. AND I paid for this item back on the 4th or 5th and I just got it yesterday/today. What a freakin' joke!!! Oh, he also just threw it in a ziploc bag and put it in a padded envelope. I expect a little better when dealing with vehicles! * * * UPDATE * * * He did refund the shipping I paid, but I still have a "bad taste" from the whole experience. He just threw the item in a ziploc bag and then into a padded envelope and charged me $6? WTF? After talking with him he did refund the $6, but I feel like I was still ripped off. I had bought another item from him too (not knowing about the shipping situation before I bought it) and now I have to wonder how much he will rip me off again. It will be your choice as to whether you want to deal with him, but I'm going to be reluctant to do so in the future. I say treat your "customers" the way you would like to be treated. I know I do when I'm selling something. Last edited by WildWeasel; 12-01-2007 at 01:18 AM.. |

Warning on eBay seller howdoubuy
Bought 25th Zartan with picture that was not of actual figure, but not labeled as a 'stock photo'. Took 17 days to get figure and we live in same state (although he accepted the Paypal transaction immediately after auction's end). Card was creased completely down the middle and was not the figure in the photo (did not have 'color changing' tag). Contacted him wanting refund or I'd claim bait-and-switch tactics, to which he got VERY defensive. Said he would refund but only pay shipping at first then when got figure would refund rest, but would not pay until I hounded him again. He finally paid half and I shipped figure, hoping I get the other half. He is a Power Seller, but of feedback left (though positive) he seems to not take good care of shipping figures. |

I've dealt with them several times in the past. Don't expect quick shipping or great communication but threatening with Paypal etc has seemed to do the trick.

I preordered a Legions box set and a set of wave 2 on September 17th, still have not recieve a thing. I emailed them on November 3rd asking when my order would ship out and they told me on November 5th or 6th. One month later, still nothing has arrived. I emailed them again last Thursday (Nov 29th), on Monday (Dec 3rd) and again today and they wont even respond to my emails. Avoid at all costs. I am sure they take your Pre-Order, lead you on until PayPal can do nothing about a refund and then pretty much tell you to go f*&# yourself. edit : I filed a claim with PayPal and eBay, and what do you know ?....5 minutes later he emails me back saying "Hi Shaun, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I WILL follow up on this for you tomorrow with my assistant and find out where your order is and why you haven't received it. I will make sure that this is taken care of for you. thanks, Larry @ RTT" amazing how fast people respond when a complaint is filed. Last edited by Cobra Commander; 12-05-2007 at 11:55 PM.. |

This, for now, is a warning against this Seller rather than a negative. I've sent him an e-mail, so we'll see how he handles the situation.
The Seller's ID is advinnash Items were purchased on 11/28. Paid for 11/29. Received today, so there's no issue what-so-ever with shipping time. Now on to the complaints. I purchased (4) items from this person, so I'll go over each issue, and post a link to each auction for verification purposes if anyone wants them. Alley Viper v1 Problem: Item is listed as in great shape with no flaws, yet has cracked elbows. Big Boa Problem: Listed as near perfect with wear only to his boxing gloves...yet has cracked elbows and an o-ring on the verge of snapping. Tele-Viper v1 Problem: No problems with this item Star Viper/Stellar Stiletto Problem: Star Viper has extensive paint wear on his gloves. Packaging: I was charged $10 to ship these items. Total package weight was 1 lb, 9 oz. Items came in a reused box with newspaper as packaging. Shipping total was actually $6.85 with Insurance, so the $3.15 mark up isn't that bad...but I can buy my own newspaper for $.50, so I'm not sure why I paid $3.15 for one. I will update once a response has been received. If one is not received, then complaints will be filed. ***EDIT*** Well, I decided not to go after some form of compensation and just left feedback that reflects my dissatisfaction. I can fix the elbow joints with epoxy, but I'm dissapointed with the Big Boa Figure...Big time. His back screw is stripped...meaning I can't swap out his o-ring. Once it snaps, the figure's done.
