Issues with bidder smf6201977 on ebay. Checking their feedback, they seem to be a heavy collector of ARAH, so its possible they buy or sell on these forums under some name also. Anyway, issues as follows:
My auctions specifically state payment due within 4 business days after auction ends. I have a notice in all caps at the top of the auction requesting bidders read my payment and shipping policy before bidding, just to make sure that has been conveyed. smf6201977 bid and won a joe figure auction on the evening of the 19th. I sent a invoice right away. Thursday rolls around, no contact from smf6201977 yet. I send another invoice. As of this evening, still no contact from smf6201977, so I send notice that per auction details, payment is now due, and that he needed to make it by tomorrow or I would need to open a non-paying bidder case so I can get the seller fees back. I noticed on smf6201977's feedback that they had won many other items and made payment during this time period, but do not mention this in my message, just made a mental note instead as I would rather avoid a conflict if possible, but it was clear they were blowing me off. First reply from smf6201977 after being notified payment was now due and that I would needed to open a case is: "Dear professorprofessorson, i sent you message telling you end of week..im sorry didnt seey sunday 4 days..thought it was 7..il try tom...but more than likely sunday.. - smf6201977" Please note, this bidder sent me no message via email, or ebays message system, so that is a flat out lie. I informed him that I received no such message, and that I do not typically accept late payments anyway unless the time frame was agreed upon before they placed a bid, not after they won, but that after a case was opened they would still have 4 days to make a late payment, per the nonpaying bidder case process. Bidder replies back with the following: "Dear professorprofessorson, take it easy pal..i pay everytime..check my feedback..dont worry payment will be made tom and now i know not to deal paranoid people..- smf6201977" I reply back explaining my policy is in place because I have had over 20 non-paying bidders win auctions since last Oct, and that I have no way of knowing if they are actually solid buyers because ebay no longer lets sellers leave negatives for non-payment. Told him trying to insult me wont improve the situation, and asked him to look at it from the sellers point of view, bidder did not stick to payment policy timeline, ignored both invoices, made no contact, what is the seller left to think? Bidder replies back with the following: "Dear professorprofessorson, listen your getting to be a pain in my ass..when is payment due?you said tom...leave me the fuck alone than....i told you payment will be made tom...i dont need a story about your experience on e bay..... - smf6201977" That was the nail in the coffin for me. I already knew they were winning and paying for other items as is, just not paying for the one they won off me. The guy lied about trying to make contact with me, and the insults were unneeded. I had every right to make contact requesting payment, and was willing to give him the until tomorrow evening before opening a case, but the guy was just being rude. They had already screwed up by bidding on my auction and not sticking to the payment plan that was clearly listed, and if he ever did get around to making payment if I never did contact him, I guess it would have been just whenever he felt like it, next week, a month later, who knows, though I doubt he had any intention to pay. I informed him due to his general attitude, the profanity and insulting manner of his replies I no longer wish to complete the transaction with him, and he will be black listed. I sent ebay a detailed cancel auction notice and reported his last two messages. The auction has been canceled and my fee amount marked as credited back. All I can say is sellers beware of this guy. Here is a link to his ebay profile: eBay My World - smf6201977 If any member needs any further details in regards to him and the auction, the matter can be discussed further via private message.

@ Amakusa666 honestly I stopped posting pmt due dates on my auctions. I'd say about 90% of buyers on eBay do not bother to read the terms and conditions you place on your auctions. For the longest time I posted when pmts were due for my auctions and almost always that was ignored. Now if pmt is not rec'd by the 4th day I just file a non-pmt claim and let the case run it's course.

Really I only run into trouble with the payment time frame when the bidder simply doesn't make contact and never submits payment at all, regardless of a case being opened, except on rare occasions where I gave the ok in advance if the cash amount was large. Those that do pay, usually do so on time after I send a initial invoice otherwise.

bought 2 items from me by making a best offers. then he decided he wanted them cheaper than he had offered and stopped responding to my pms once i told him i wouldnt go lower than the offer he had offered and i had accepted. i had already combined shipping charges on the invoice i sent him as well. i filed a nonpayment claim on the 22nd. what exactly happens in a non payment claim? do they get "in trouble" for not paying or something?

Once your signed into your "my eBay" click on the customer service link on the upper right corner of your page. from there in the search field type in "block bidders" and hit search. Once you do that click on the "Block bidders or buyers from your listings" link. Once you click on that link save that page to your favorites so you have it ready when you need it. There will be a box on that page that you can put all the member id's you want to block from bidding on your future auctions. remember to separate each id with a comma.

Hey guys,
I'm hoping for some advice on a new problem I've run into with ebay. I sold an item to a bidder with Best Offer, Free Shipping. He paid, I shipped it on 9/8 with Parcel Post using ebay's shipping label. The tracking info still shows something along the lines of "Seller has paid for the label but the post office has not received it." I know I dropped off the package, I have even double checked the house and both cars to make sure I didn't have a brain fart and lose it. He is now asking for a refund of the full price. Here's what I'm wondering: 1) Is the package lost? (probably) 2) Do I have to refund him? (probably) 3) If I refund him is there any way to get my shipping costs back? This is the first real issue I've run into with ebay so I guess I should be grateful. Still very frustrating!
